Hey all,
Looking for the cheapest reputable place to buy a ladies North Face down jacket online.
Was thinking they'd be cheaper in the US/Canada or Europe as the winter season is ending there?
Cheers!

Never want to buy North Face stuff, overpriced just like Kathmandu, unless they are 90% off :)
It is overpriced everywhere, unless you get them on clearance. I have got north face gear for over 50% off a few times. David Jones used to mark it down quite a lot at clearance time, but I don't think they stock the brand anymore? Iconic and Surfstitch very occasionally has some deals which you can stack with vouchers too. Anaconda only seems to discount by 10-20%. So your best bet is probably buy online, and just keep an eye out for sales.
This is a better value option for the OzBargainer: https://www.target.com.au/p/basic-puffer-vest/59760658
This OzBargainer usually buys from Mountain Designs and would agree about the relative value of North Face.
However, in this case the OzBargainer's missus wants North Face, so North Face it is :)
Catch of the Day?
They seem to have limited gear but the prices seem ok
waited for a sale on cotd 10% site wide plus masterpass 10%. Got a jacket off their for my gf
Cheers, actually ended up ordering from 6pm.com (US site) and got it delivered for under $200 total. Happy lady and happy wallet :)

These guys dont ship to Australia so you have to use a mail forwarder. Sometimes they have awesome sales though!
Exactly right :)
whats the best/cheapest mail forwarder to ship clothings from US to AUS?
Cheers.
I use HopShopGo but I haven't looked at other options in a while. I hear good things about ShipItTo but they seem quite expensive…
@mad__llama: are they any good?
did a quick search and reviews back in 2010 seem quite bad :p
@chew_chew: They're the only service I've ever used, and I've only used them a few times (over maybe 5 years?). I've never had a problem, apart from the online postage calculator underestimating the cost by around $5-10 and some fees which weren't disclosed upfront. Still a lot cheaper than buying local and paying the "Australia Tax" :)
I remember a few months back on looking to buy their Venture jackets. In Aus they were charing around 200+. In the states its $99.0 USD before tax (so roughly $140 AUD with tax after conversion). Saved myself close to $60. I couldn't believe the markup they had here in Australia. I was in Hawaii at the time so bought it there.
You can find some savings on like Amazon and ship it over if you're lucky. REI also ships internationally.
