Aesthetically looking, pleasantly scented. Wears off nicely with no cracks, doesn't brakes on pieces… 100% use of the bar.
You can google the skin benefits of using this soap. Good to be used as a shaving soap too. $1 per bar happens only once or twice per a year. So it is a time to stock up.

Paper is made in China and stamped by Chinese made stamps. The only thing that was made in Australia is person stamping it… maybe.

      • Its trying to turn a dodgy hairdressing course into permanent residency while sharing a taxi license with seven others. Which is quite hard ask, for a soap

          but it says pleasantly scented

made with the purest Ganges water…

Is that why it is a 'transparent' orange colour ???

        • you don't want to see this stuff on a slide

  • It's been that price all week…

You should've posted the deal then. Your laziness is stopping the rest of us from having good deals.

half assed joke, probably offensive :)

        • @jv: But soap that's named after a fruit that's cheaper than $1 a bar? Name it!

        • @King Tightarse:

Why you go around smelling poo and dead people is beyond my comprehension.

          Pretty racist

          That is really offensive.

        • @dm01: It is named after Andrew Pears in 1807 when it was first produced and sold. More than 200 years of Pears soap. This is one of the longest "still around" products in the world. All the other soaps are nice looking only when are not used. After only a few washes you don't want to be seen using them (especially by a woman).

@nov: Women don't like used soap? Seems pretty shallow. Do they throw out a bar of soap after one use?

    How fast is the soap?

  • +1

Pears soap ain't what it used to be, it changed a few years ago.

Palmolive Gold user here; don't wait to be told, you need Palmolive Gold.

  • Propylene Glycol, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Use australian made soaps which free from these two ingredients.

    • +1

I insist you use soaps with those ingredients.

      • Propylene Glycol, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, I would rather Use australian made soaps which free from these two ingredients. was what i meani to say. :-)

        • Pretty hard to avoid, that stuff is in a lot of products.

        • Yeah, I know what you meant, but you didn't provide an explanation, so it's kinda pointless. Maybe you have an allergic reaction. What are we to think? As Scab has pointed out, those ingredients are pretty common and shouldn't be of concern to most people. As for the Australian made thing, sure, buy Australian if you have the money, but this is Ozbargain :-P

        • This is one soap that does not cause me irritation. If there is a less irritating one…

As said below, it does dissolve fast… so deduct that from the saving. Ill let someone else calculate the losses.

    • Bigw warehouse clearance 2 years back had 72 soap bars in just $6.

      It stated made in Australia

  • Pears soap seem to dissolve really fast, just a few washes and it is almost down to nothing already!

    • +1

Ah, that's why it is transparent.
