    Looks pretty good. t

The next component you add should be ssd and get windows and games onto that. But I wouldn't sacrifice any parts you have listed for that, you can't have everything for the same price.

    • Any recommendations for the SSD?

      • If you care solely about reliability, go for anything Intel except the 540 (why did they make this).
If you care only a little about reliability but care more for performance, go Samsung EVO/Pro 850/860.

If money is tight, and you like Russian Roulette, then anything else really.

I'm also looking for a budget gaming PC, so if you don't mind I might highjack this build lol. The GTX 1050 Ti was only ~$166 a few days ago so I reckon we should wait till it drops around the same price. Also, one of those 20% off selected eBay stores sales will come in handy regardless of the 'price jacking'.

Not a problem, would be good building a PC together as I've never built one before haha.

Looks like an ebay sale has popped up. Just in time.

      • Price jacking ruined everything. Cheaper at MSY. 😏

Nice budget build. Any idea if it can do 1080p overwatch and maybe the new dawn of war 3?

I used to game on a 740m or 940m laptop barely handled a few titles but I could feel it burn.

My next build is looking to be either mid range or high end but not 4k ready as I don't think it is feasible yet price wise or content wise.

What monitor and what resolution will you be mainly playing at? 720p 27"?

    • Not sure about overwatch but in terms of the monitor, something along those lines.

  • Would it be possible to run a GTX 1060 or RX470 with this setup? It seems better value for money in terms of performance?.

    • depends on what games you want to play. Typical e-Sports games like DOTA, CSGO, Overwatch and Rocket League don't need powerful graphics cards.

    • Yes, a GTX 1060 would be fine…it doesn't need a lot of power so a 450W PSU should easily support it. And you should get a very meaningful boost in framerates over the 1050.

RX470 or RX570 would also work, but you can't afford to go much higher than that with AMD cards without upgrading the PSU (RX570 uses more power than the much higher performance GTX 1070)

  • Screen, keyboard and mouse?
