Vaya- disconnected 6 months ago, they continued charging me

Hi,

I ported away from Vaya 6 moths ago. To my surprise, I doubled checked my Credit card bill and noticed that I was still being charged.

I called them up, and they have acknowledged it as an error and said they will refund it to my bank account…

Do you think I'm entitled to more than just a refund?

Has anyone had this happen to them?

If you've ported away from Vaya, make sure to double check your credit card!

  • Yes it's happened to me. They also attempted to hold onto the money they were stealing from me for another 14 days instead of three days which was hilarious and probably means they're making money off the money they stole from you and me .

    Naturally it took going to the TIO to make them stop stealing because the telcos wrote their own regulations they operate under. You cannot prosecute them like you could someone else who defrauded you.

    porting out does not seem to trigger their billing system to stop.
    has happened to many before and will happen to many again
    you need to contact vaya to cancel as well as porting.

    you only look at you cr card statement after 6 months?

    • I am paying someone else's Kogan account (on another Credit Card), so only when I had them both side by side…

      I can imagine there are lot's out there who don't even realise it. Very shady practice.

  • Same here. A phone call sorted it. With Kogan now for a pittance!
