Naturally this will only be an issue for Chrome users. If you want a sane browser with all of Chrome's security and none of the annoyances you could try Vivaldi a go. It's created by some former Opera developers and is similar to desktop Opera before the ads/VPN/crud started while being based on Chrome.
Using Vivaldi for a month now, works well enough, note not extremely PC literate so that is the best I can say. It is very user configurable by the looks.
