Hey all – MY GF and I are travelling from Australia to Canada for a week or 2 in July/August (Summer), just after some additional feedback on my plan.
We’re not big adrenaline junkies, but would like to experience some Canadian Culture + “The Rockies”.
We intend to do NYC/Toronto/East Canada in a few years time.
After Canada, we are spending a week in Hawaii (To relax) before heading back home.
We’re 27 and looking for a “cost-effective” holiday…. i.e not 5-star, but not dirt cheap. Any feedback would be great.
Vancouver: 5 Days
Day 1:
Get over Jetlag
Stanley Park
Granville Island
Day 2:

Grouse Mountain
Day 3: Whistler

Shannons Falls
Squamish
Brandywine Falls Provincial Park
Day 4: Vancouver Island (Victoria)
Butchart Park
Miniature World
Becon Hill Park
Breakwater
Unsure what else to do in Victoria, BC
Day 5: Fly to Calgary>Banff
Bow Falls
Lake Minnewaka
Hot Springs
Suprise Corner
Sulfur Mountain
Evening Wildlife Tour
Day 6: Icefield Parkways Day Tour
Peyto Lake
Crowfoot Glacier
Glacier Sky Walk
Glacier Walk
Day 7: Explore Lake Louise
Johnston Canyon (Hike)
LL Gondola
Moraine Lake
Plus additional Banff Stuff missed on first day
Day 8: Travel Banff>Calgary>Hawaii
Day 9 -14: Relax in Hawaii
Questions:
- Am I missing anything major in Vancouver area?
- Should I allow more time in Vancouver just to “experience”/Discover” the area?
Thanks
The Johnston canyon walk in Banff is pretty good although make sure you get cleats. My only comment on your itinerary is that it is extremely busy. You will probably be exhausted after the first 5 days and then the rest will be a blur.
