      He is just inviting JV to comment.

      • Does it come with pedals?

    TP-Link Smart Plug is ~$39. What does this do that the TP-Link doesn't?

    • +1

      It turns on and off via WiFi, so no. Plus the TP-Link supports IFTTT just like every other smart device so it's not like you'll only be able to control via the app.

        I didn't ask a yes or no question. But afaik both turn on and off via wifi

      This is the Insight version which has the ability to monitor energy consumption.

      • Ok the HS110 does (which I have) but I can't find it for sale lol

      • the ability to monitor energy consumption.

        Let's hope it manages to avoid the spectacular inability of many smart devices to like uh measure things correctly.

    • So is this TP-Link better?
      Just say you have 10 of these in your house, wouldn't they be limited if your router only supports 8 devices?

        Is this a question, a statement or what?

        Ok you have ten of these and a rubbish router with a limit of eight devices so what are you going to do?
        * Get a better router?
        * Get a standalone wireless access point (which is the logical step)?
        * Throw two of these out?
        * Move house?

        • Ok thanks

        Im still unclear, do I want the Wemo or the TP Link…. which is more versatile, and why?

  • can anyone recommend a "smart bulb" that fits a E14 socket??

  • I have the first model and it's the biggest piece of shit electronic device I've bought. When it works, it's great. Then they do an update or it simply stops working. Spent many hours on forums etc and have finally given up and gone back to an old clock timer. Other brands might be ok, but I will never buy another Belkin product.

    • Mine works fine. Get it replaced.

      • Already did. This is my second unit.

  • Does this work much better with Google home then tplink does?

    • From what I read, TP-Link doesn't support IFTTT natively so this is a big drawback in my opinion.

      • What do you use IFTTT for?

          When I come home from work, a sensor in my garage knows I've arrived and turns on my living room light.

  • Actually Mwave seems to be cheaper by about $1… Of course if you can't pick up, Bunnings is cheaper.

    Priced matched with Mwave on Sunday and got it for $58.89… Now I wish the WeMo can actually be controled by Tasker or Automate…

  • Warehouse1 is listing the Wemo Insight for $47.95
