Apple Makes iMovie, GarageBand, Pages, Numbers & Keynote for Mac & iOS Free for All Users

Apple today updated several of its Mac and iOS apps, making them available for all Mac and iOS users for free. Previously, all of these apps were provided for free to customers who purchased a new MAC or iOS device, but now that purchase is not required to get the software. Enjoy :)

      • Ozbargain seems to randomly promote a "long-running" deal at the top of your homepage every now and then. Guessing he didn't look at the original post date.

        I find it strange that you still need to "purchase" these apps on the app store and that they aren't just built into the OS to let you update them without an Apple ID.

        Makes it a bit of a pain when you're preparing a Mac for resale 2nd hand as they will prompt for your password when they need an update if you preinstall them for the new buyers, they then have to totally delete and reinstall the app to tie it to their own Apple ID.
