Ozito X Power or ALDI Xfinity 20V Circular Saw

After seeing the recent shelf deal I browsed the Aldi website for the other special buys coming up on the 22nd April, noticed the 20V XFinity power tools and in particular the circular saw (165mm). If you buy the charger, battery and saw to form a kit, it comes to $120

Currently Bunnings have their Ozito kit for $130

With bigger battery and probably much better range for now. But slightly smaller at 150mm and FWIW only 2V less.

Think Bunnings will do their usual price drop to match, even if the product is different?

I mean I have no need for one LOL. Though I considered one quite hard recently when commenting on my Ozito table saw being a bit crap but a lot of that prob operator error too. Still, as a bargain hunter and impulse buyer a cordless circular sounds like a handy flexible idea lol.

I'd go for the Ozito because you can buy a new battery, or compatible tool, next week if you feel like it. With Aldi you can only buy this stuff at random times through the year.

personally i'd buy a corded circular saw. i have a 14v mini-circular saw and it is gutless.

Agreed. My ryobi one saw is garbage when cutting anything over 20mm

20v is marketing wank! 5 18650s in series is 21 volts fully charged. Or 18v volts nominal so they are the exact same power. Basically 18650s are rated at 3.7 volts but they charge to 4.2 volts.

I would not get a cordless unless it was a necessity corded will be much more powerful and last longer.

    • Yup, will be the same battery voltage for both. Amp hours will vary though.

Don't buy it unless you have a use for it. I'd only get a cordless circ saw if I already had batteries and a specific job for it. I have a cordless circ saw, it is a bit older and fairly gutless, I only have it as it came as a bulk 2nd hand set, hardly us it and go for the corded one mostly. Other cordless tools I have are pretty good though and I've got over 15 items since buying a drill about 5 years ago.

+1 on ozito being available everyday unlike Aldi couple of times a year specials.

  • Agree with the above about cordless vs corded, always go corded unless for some reason you are unable to.
