I was shopping at Woolworths South Melbourne and the BWS guy told me they are doing 50% discount on the Label 5 Scotch Whisky.
Not a big fan of Label 5 but $26.50 for a 12 Year Old Scotch is a no-brainer. I'm not sure whether the promotion is only limited to the South Melbourne BWS, plenty of stocks available.
I drank these one time… and I don't remember what happened…. 🙈

Have you asked the cashier? It scanned out as $26.50, and there's no sign saying its on discount on the shelves.

Another brand like Johnny Walker that seems to be on the shelves anywhere but Scotland. I lived there most of my life and never saw this once.
Because despite being produced and bottled in Scotland, it's owned by a French company and its main market is France.
They would be losing money on every sale.
Excise is $24.68 on 750ml at 40% alcohol and GST $2.65
It's a deleted line. Which is why it's on clearance and half price. Most (maybe all?) BWS stores won't be stocking it anymore. So whatever stock a store might have on hand, will be all that's left.
