I need to see an endodontist urgently but currently still waiting for my major dental 12 months waiting period. The endodontist that my dentist referred me to quoted me for $2600 per molar. I can't go overseas to get this done due to family commitments. Any recommendations on where I could go in Sydney? Or what should I do?

Is there a Dental University nearby that need the (supervised) practice ?
What was the reason the dentist referred you to the endo for? Was the case too complex? If that's the situation then dental university students probably wouldnt be the best option for RCT. Perhaps another general dentist could have have a look at it (again depends on the complexity of your case)

If it's still too expensive, see if you can work out a payment plan. Otherwise, the cheapest option you could go for is an extraction followed by a prosthetic option in the future
The tooth that had root canel got infected and needs to be re-root canel, hence why I need to see a endodontist rather then general dentist
Apart from the options you already have, you could also see if a general dentist would attempt a re treatment. Or they could try a temporary treatment which may get you relief for few months. Hopefully by then your major dental waiting period is over, or you're ability to travel for treatment is restored.
Like spal said, there are some highly skilled general dentists out there that may consider doing the retreatment. Would require some looking around though, however
Most Health Fund Extras won't contribute much towards it anyway, considering the amount you would have paid over the 12 month period.
Better off getting a couple of quotes from different providers
