The 5W MR16's are great, but even the cool white is quite yellow. Great angle, and very bright. Definitely comparable to 45W.
Yeah I reckon they are pretty good. The cool white is more like Daylight than cool white IMO

i got mr16 cool white on thursday from woolworth in crows nest.
unfortunately, i had to return them cause they were flickering.Maybe try Philips MR16 "retrofit". One of my lights needs those. Not many shops still sell them, but you can still get them on eBay.
packing has no warning about compatibility.

The flickering often goes away if the transformer is changed to more recent models. There's no guarantee as the compatibility between LED and transformers has too many possible combinations. However my personal experience is that my old transformers that worked well with halogen didn't always work with the newer LEDs (some do but some don't, even though they are the same transformer model). Some of the Phillips LED designed for retrofit had best compatibility but they had annoying ventilation gaps which I don't want to have in winter when the gas heating is running.
Are these prices nationwide, I went to woolies on Thursday and didn't see these prices.

7W E27 600 lumens for $2.25 at my local.
Steer clear of the Essential warm whites with the narrow beam. My local has a bunch of them. The good ones are the Master 450 lumens with 60 degree beam.
