Do you find it easy to return faulty items especially to Chinese sellers?
I bought dozens of gadgets and must admit saved quite some money. 2 issues really bother me:
There is no way that one can tell if the seller is a stockist or a drop shipper. Some items say HK stock and show up the next day from Sydney, some take 3 months.
Faulty items usually end up with an unreadable Pinyin style address or the staff at the sellers has no English knowledge and ebay's automated system leaves me in the cold.
Ebay promises to get back within 48 hours but takes 8 emails over 3 months, they do not read mine but keep fobbing me off and then accuse me of timeout.
So I got told now the Chinese New Year was my fault, the delay from the seller too, ebay's delay as well and now I get an incorrect procedure to try my luck on pay-pal.
So many hours later my transaction gets found and now pay-pal tells me:
Please wait
Please wait while we return your information.
Am I alone?
I found that when you need to return an item back to China it is best to get paypal involved, they will translate the return address and make sure you don't send it to an address the seller asks you to send it to. Take photos of the item packed with the translated return address paypal sent you, take another photo at the post office with the address + tracking number the post had issued/attached and then make sure the sales clerk at the post office scans the package into the system so that paypal can see that you had sent the item and lately take a picture of the receipt with tracking number when you get home. It seems that on a couple of occasions the sellers in China have good connections with paypal and they close disputes to the sellers favour even if you have done everything correctly after sending the product back with the tracking number indicating item had been delivered, so the best thing to do is to call paypal, upload to server/forward to specified paypal email all the pictures you have taken and then call again so they can review the dispute while you are on the phone with them.
