Thanks for the link, mskeggs. One of the comments suggested to do a repair disc and it worked a ton. Thanks again.
What brand and model is the laptop?
BSOD can be software or hardware related.
Got it working, thanks anyway.
I take it the issue is solved so marking it as such
The error is saying there is a hardware error, but as it comes so late in the boot cycle it can only be related to information coming off the hard disk. So that means the disk is going bad, or the info on it is.
Googling gave me some suggestions of people who had changed parameters in the BIOS so Windows expected different hardware.

Another hit said bad HDD sectors.
I have also seen this error once with an intermittent hardware failure. In my case it was the drive connector ribbon that booted okay when the machine was half assembled, then threw this error when it was folded up to fully assemble the machine.
So there may be a number of causes.
If you have another machine try and mount the suspect drive in a USB enclosure. Or possibly boot from a USB recovery drive and see if you can recover any files from the main drive you need. hard Then try a a fresh windows install on the suspect drive.
Either way, I suspect you will need to erase the main drive if it is still good.
And I dare say if you are patient Scrimshaw will be along with the exact diagnosis before too long ;-)
