I ordered a $20 item from Amazon and it didn't arrive. Tracking said it had been delivered 7 days previously but I never saw it. Since Amazon delivery usually just leave stuff on my driveway I assumed it had been stolen from my driveway.
So I contacted Amazon last night and they agreed to express ship a replacement to me.
Then this morning - maybe 12 hours after chatting to Amazon reps online - I watched a man who wasn't wearing a uniform or driving a marked courier vehicle deliver the Amazon item to my address. Which was very strange since it had already been tracked as "delivered" 8 days ago.
Contacted Amazon again, rep had no idea what happened but had to cancel the replacement which they'd already shipped.
Anyone know what may have happened here?
I have received parcels for neighbours in error (like a street or two over) and have delivered them myself.
And I once had a tracked parcel marked as delivered that was incorrectly handed over to another house (they signed for it too). They dropped it round the next day.
Maybe the same?
