xbox console deal?

  As the new xbox has just come out you can pick up the old console for under $200 from almost anywhere harvey norman has it at $176 i think.

  You dont need the expensive microsoft HDD anymore you can now use a memory stick and still go on live but if you still want it check out the major retailers as some of the older game bundles are going for between $250 and $330

  yeah you can just have to get at least a 16gb one

  also Xbox 360 Elite + Halo ODST and Forza 3 $227 @ Harvey Norman

  If you are getting the old console, a dedicated hard drive is well worth the investment. Install all your games to save having to read from disc - decreased load times, noise, wear and tear as well as eliminating the risk of damage to your discs (from Microsoft's crappy disc drive).

    call me a noob, but can you copy a game to a HDD and play it from there?! How do they avoid piracy issues? i.e. what stops me going to the video store, hiring a game, copying it to the hdd and taking the game back?

    Also, if this is possible, are you able to plug in an external hdd and play from that without needing the disk?

      It copies the game data but not the boot up sector, you need the disc to play the game, without the disc you can't play. Similar to a PC game install process. (though that is far easer to get around)

        thanks. I'm not interested in pirating, actually the only game I want is Red Dead Redemption, which I'm quite happy to buy.

          @RangaWal: If you are interested I'm selling a quite new 360 elite with LT iX 1.1 fw, only a few months old, hardly used (I have a Jtag as well) and not banned from live

  I'm planning to buy a xbox 360 for my uncle. I bought one for myself for $227 at HN Highpoint a few weeks ago, but I think they are all gone now. If anyone has seen good deals, please post!
