Beware Autogenie - They Did Not Follow up with The Refund

Hi All,
I bought a new car recently. As part of my search for a good deal I paid the Autogenie fee to see what offers they could come up with. After 24 hours I received a single quote from a dealer whose asking price was above RRP. The website clearly stated that I would be offered two genuine quotes within 24 hours and that I would have my money back if this did not happen.

I called after a few days and they said that I would receive a refund in a few days. That was a quick process and I was happy that it was straight forward.

Three weeks have now passed and the refund has not gone through. I have called three times and hung up after I was on hold for around 13 minutes.

Adding to the confusion I then received another offer on a car, with a $400 dollar saving off RRP on the 27th of March which was well after the refund was promised.

    Small claims court if your contract was breached.

    Use their lethargy against them. Reverse the fee through your CC. Let them fight you for it.

      I don't know what to say to that, i didnt know i could! Sorry for asking what could be a mundane question but do i just call my CC mob and reverse the fee?

        Yes my dear friend, It is as simple as it sounds. Call you credit card customer care and ask to reverse the transaction - if they ask you for a reason, say you didnt receive the service you were promised. They'll be fine with that and proceed with the chargeback.

    Has anyone used the Auto Genie (AU) $349 premium offer? Their website says you get a refund of $250 if you buy the vehicle via them. And also is this fee ($349 premium, or $49 general) a one off fee that allows multiple purchases over several years or is it the cost per car purchase is it an annual fee they will keep charging?

    About Autogenie. What a rip off! Claim they save you thousands and have money back guarantee. In my experience, the best price they could get was the same price as widely advertised and available from dealers. They refused to refund my $49. Nor did they disclose that they charge dealers $695 if you buy from them.

    Recently used them. Waste of $49.
    Sure I got 2 quotes. But it was no better than what dealer's were quoting!
