Depends, 4x4 tires like the Bridgestone Dueler you wont buy 3 and get 1 free. So the tyresales price combined with the $50 off may actually be a good deal for many tyre types.
depends what you pay i suppose, when i priced my replacement tyres last year, I saved a few hundred compared to the local market.
$50 cashback is really not a great bargain when it comes to tyres
Tyroola is much better and cheaper
i was in a bob jane tyre shop recently. Phone rang, bloke was shopping around with tyroola prices. Bloke there was happy to match their price incl any shipping/fitting charges.
Always pays to ask the question
I prefer to reward the market innovators with my custom.
normally i would also, but i value my time too. They're also hardly innovators, better prices can be had all day long on ebay.
+1 for Tyroola.
Tyresales was a huge rip off. I expected actual sales, not 40% inflated prices of what I could get from my local tyre shop. Swore never to visit them again.
I just went through this process recently, not with tyresales but they were number 1 on my list as the idea of saving cash, buying online and getting them delivered sounded plausible.
Their deals with buy 1 get one free on random tyes were not better than full price at Tempe tryes (used them to compare cause they list prices)
And even with the free one, it was dearer by a fair margin.I ended up buying from the same place I always buy from. Tyre Power Erina.
Called asked for a price, was great, got em.
(BTW.. I'm not associated with Tyre Power)+1 Ring around.
I bought a set of tyres last year - Bob Jane were participating in the Bridgestone buy 3 get the 4th free offer.
At that time, there also appeared an Amex offer for cashback.
Saved enough money to pay to get the rims fixed (yes, Bob Jane roughed them up for free).
Next time I will take photos of each rim outside the shop before handing the car over (sigh, lesson learned, could happen at any shop).Anyways, this deal is nothing special, and tyresales prices weren't anything special either when I looked (tempe was heaps cheaper).
word of warning - last time i checked tyresales (about a year ago) their prices were way inflated.. they were that overpriced I swore never to visit them again.
a jax quick fit local tyre shop, or tyroola.com.au would be a much cheaper and better bet.. :) tyroola has some amazing prices on tyres sometimes, can be up to 30-50% cheaper than tyresales
Then when you find the best deal you call Kmart and they give you an extra $5 off each tyre with their price beat.
I recently bought Yokohama Bluearth AE01 for my sedan. Got all 4 with one free (3+1) and price included wheel balancing and all other smaller stuff at Bobjane. Was quite happy with the deal as these tyres are excellent, soft and very silent. Still need to track more about the fuel saving part.
At Cosco they are have the same promotion for Bridgstone as well. Buy 3 get 1 free
I believe they have same at Bobjane too but I preferred Yokohama.
Tyresales.com.au is the middle man. No point giving them business. Better go to bob jane and negotiate on the price. Definitely will beat $50 easily
Most places have buy 3 get 1 free. That is 25% off for 4 tyres. $50 is not really a bargain.
