[Pre-Order] Anker PowerCore+ 20100 USB-C Power Bank $88.88 Delivered @ CableGeek

160
POWERCOREPLUS

We are launching the first USB-C power bank from Anker, featuring a huge 20100mAh capacity and a powerful 5V/3A output/input. Scheduled to arrive in late-June, we are taking pre-orders from today at a special price $88.88 (including GST). For comparison, the Amazon price for this product is 65.99 USD or $95.12 including GST and they don't ship to Australia. The next cheapest Australian retailer sells this product at $149.99.

Perfect for: Nintendo Switch, Nexus 5X/6P, Google Pixel and Samsung S8/S8+. May work with some USB-C laptops but the maximum output is 15W, so we can't guarantee usable charging performance.

This price is a guaranteed deal — we won't ever sell this product below $99.99 within 3 months of release. Although the 30 June release date is a rather long wait, there's no risk (because of our no obligation pre-order policy) and maximum discount is guaranteed.

The $88.88 promotion runs until the end of April only, and after that the pre-order price is $99.99. Email updates will be sent prior to shipping your orders to confirm the shipping addresses. Enjoy!

    whats the weight and dimensions?

    • I copied this straight from Amazon (sorry for the imperial units): LWH: 7.2 x 2.4 x 0.9 in, Weight: 454g/16oz

I believe most airlines wont allow the carriage of >20,000 MaH batteries so keep that in mind if travelling with it

    • +1

How would they possibly enforce this?

      • +1

Um when they check your baggage at security they see it and take it? You're not allowed to carry these batteries in checked luggage.

That said most of the time they advertise their MaH @ 3.7volts not 5V that they output. If its 20,100 @ 3.7V its only 75 Wh and allowed to be carried. If its 20,100 @ 5V then its over the limit.

        More info here… https://www.casa.gov.au/standard-page/travelling-safely-batt…

You should be fine in Australia, but overseas you'll run into problems. Some airports in China for example will confiscate anything over 10000mAh. Power banks show up in the scanners and you'll need to have them out of your bags. Happens all the time here.

    • +1

20,000mAh would be above the 99Wh limit if the battery cells were at 5V, but usually they're lower (3.7V on my xiaomi 20k gen1) The advertised charging capacity supports this (it charges an iPhone 6s which has a 6.91Wh battery 7.4 times, which is still well below 99Wh)

    • +8

The cells are rated at 3.7V, and Anker is well aware of this limit — that's why their largest ever power bank is 26,800mAh. We regularly get queries about why we don't have the AUKEY 30,000mAh power bank exactly for this reason. Nothing you buy on CableGeek can't be transported by air.

        Good to know. Thanks :)

      • Sorry, probably offtopic but you're quite knowledgeable and re: an Aukey 30,000mAh (assuming this same one here on ozbargain) :

Would you happen to have any idea why the orange QC USB port on an Aukey would stop detecting and consequently stop quick charging QC capable devices (still charges albeit slowly)?

I doubt there would be any easy fixes (dumb thing stopped quick charging recently) and I'm just going to have to write it off as a normal powerbank

        • +1

You might have experienced a quality issue. AUKEY provides 24-month warranty so you can contact your seller for assistance.

FYI, this won't change the 2016 15" MBP (see https://macperformanceguide.com/blog/2016/20161119_1007-powe…)

    • Thanks. Do you if there is anything available that can be used for 2016 MBP 15"?

Macworld doesn't agree in what seems like a proper head to head test… http://www.macworld.com/article/3028132/consumer-electronics…

      • Where in that article does it even mention a MacBook Pro was used?

        • I believe that his power bank can fully support a MacBook (it can charge a full MacBook) but the compatibility with MacBook Pro isn't confirmed in the article.

        • @CableGeek:

Can confirm this as I read the article. Nowhere in my first comment did I say this power bank wouldn't charge a 12" MacBook.

  • Appears to be good piece of product however noted that if it only supports 5V, then it doesn't appear to support Quick Charge 2.0 Standard (which is 9v/1.67A) and many phones appear to support 5V up to 2.1Amp only.

So to me this is probably too expensive given what it does.

  • Op, this Anker does not support usb PD via the usb c port?

    • +2

It does. There are a few PD profiles around, and this power bank only works at 5V/3A.

Perfect for Nintendo Switch, Nexus 5X/6P, Google Pixel and Samsung S8.

      • You got me there.. :-)

For Nintendo Switch, I thought the required voltage is 15v???

        • only while docked
i believe its 5V/2.1A when undocked

  • Is this good for Nintendo switch?

    • +1

      One of the best yes.

  • I have my trusty anker that I got from amazon uk and a mate was travelling to Melb brought it back for me. Many year ago and it's still going well

  • Perfect for the Nintendo switch. Unfortunately for me I'm personally looking at exactly the same thing but just a smaller capacity ie. 10000 mah. Will have to wait

    • Maybe you can wait for our Tronsmart Presto re-stock. It's 10000mAh USB-C + QC 3.0.

      • how much do you sell it for?

        • It retails at $49.99. We have always been selling the product locally at this price.

    • How come? Nintendo Switch requires 15v charger?

      • Should be 15W (5V/3A)

  • I doubt it but any idea if this can charge the late 2016 HP spectre x360?

    • The maximum output is 15W, so we don't recommend using this power bank to charge laptops.

  • I pre-ordered the other deal for the 10000mAh (https://www.cablegeek.com.au/shop/power/power-banks/anker-po…) that doesn't have power delivery, is there another 10000mAh Ankey with the same speed and PD?

    • At the moment this is the only Anker PD power bank.

  • Does this support USB PD? The description says it'd be perfect for a Nexus 5X/6P, but USB PD support isn't listed anywhere.

    • This device supports PD profiles up to 5V/3A. Which device are you looking to charge?

  • Pre-ordered. Such a lucky price tag! (Chinese obsession with the number 8)

  • Excellent - thank you!

I really wanted one before my trip at the end of May, but I'll pick one up anyway.

  • We are launching the first USB-C power bank from Anker

I believe one of the Xiaomi chargers supports Type C.

But I guess you meant Anker's first USB-C charger?

    • The first "USB-C power bank from Anker".

      • It's expensive.

        Just saying.

        • Xiaomi power banks don't support PD for 5V/3A, so different features and different price.

  • I need a Anker powerbank that has QC 2.0 and 3.0 input and output with about 20,000mAh. Is this the best one to get?

    • This doesn't have QC input or output. We have the PowerCore Speed 20000 QC which supports QC 3.0 output at https://www.cablegeek.com.au/shop/power/power-banks/anker-po…. This product will be available in the next 7 days.

      • ok…typo on my side. so i need an Anker powerbank that has QC 2.0 and 3.0 output and most importantly QC 3.0 INPUT with about 20,000mAh. So does the one you just suggest have those features?

        • +1

Anker PowerCore+ QC 3.0 models does have these features, but not PowerCore Speed. We only have the 10,000mAh version of what you are looking for: https://www.cablegeek.com.au/shop/power/power-banks/anker-po…

Our stocks for ultra high capacity power banks are really tight due to long lead times of Anker products — we will have more 20000mAh in the second half of this year. To give you an example on how slow things are moving: our PowerCore Speed 20000 QC launching this week was ordered in November last year.

  • Does anyone know if this can charge a Dell Laptop (m5510)?

  • @Cablegeek - can this powerbank charge the phone while the powebank itself is being charged?

    • As far as I know, none of the power banks we've seen supports pass-through charging. This is a battery safety issue — the power bank controllers deliberately shut off output power if it's being charged.

      • Thanks for the quick reply! Btw, what's "PD"?

        • Power Delivery

  • Is there a <200000mah powerbank that will charge as quick as the s8/8+. I know they are QC4.0 but heard down the line Google will enforce usb-PD which may stops QC4.0. any thoughts and recommendations?
