    This deal sucks

EDIT: Wait it's not a vacuum

Sorry not for you if you only like sucking. Great if you like a warm or cool blow.

      This deal blows

  • Does it worry anyone else that replacement filters, although free with this deal, cost significantly more than a normal desk fan?

    • +2

Doesn't worry me, coz I'm gonna buy a normal (hopefully) desk fan.

    • If your just after a desk fan at that time then run it without the filter, if you want to filter the air then $100 for about a years worth. I know when mine is up I won't be getting a replacement.

      • Wouldn't running it without a filter effectively ruin the machine as it is like with other Dyson products with filters; that if you run one without a filter it can damage the machine as this fan draws dust in (granted not as strong as the vacuums but more or less same concept), so if there is no filter while it is running it is essentially drawing dust into the body to the point it can block the fan and potentially damage it?

        • Not actively advertised because they want to sell them as purifying unit but you get a slight increase in power (around 10%) without the filter, doesn't void warranty or anything fine to use.

They don't accumulate dust like vacuums.

        • @rekabkram: That is because power isn't their business model for their products, it is how the job is done differently (each to their own whether they believe if done more effectively or not) otherwise they would be bashed by a lot of more people.

It wouldn't be as much like the vacuums but still would due to the nature of this model being a purifier as well compared to the other Dyson fans. It would be fine if you could turn of the purifying aspect but since you can't I just wouldn't think it would be a good idea on the long run to run it without its filter like it's intended to be.

        • Thats right, you can run the Dyson without filter and enjoy a higher output. On my Dyson Pure Cool Link, the inside air-intake is the same design as their AM07. Dust accumulates at the grill and only a weekly wipe-off required. The filtered models only add a radial HEPA filter around it.

    • mine says it last 4300 hrs soo not really i've used mine for about 6 months and its now at 4000 hrs

    April fool's? Oh wait, it's a Dyson…

  • Got a $20 pedestal fan a couple of weeks ago. Easily as good as the dyson fans.

    • Yours is probably a better fan at high settings, but your are forgetting this is also a air purifier and a heater. Granted you can get all of them individually for cheaper this takes less space and more aesthetically pleasing to look at.

      • Whether it's better to look at or not, both are ugly and you wouldn't choose to have either in your room if it weren't for their ability to push air around. And on that part, they both do the same job.

        • So your $20 pedestal fan has climate controlled heating, a remote, can be operated through wifi (phone app), can take smells and dust out of the air, sleep timers, and scheduled purifying?

We get it you don't like them for whatever your reason is, but its fairly obvious that you've never seen one in use.

        • @rekabkram:
I absolutely have seen many of them in use. They are fans. This one has a heater. One setting pushes air and the other setting heats air up. My $20 pedestals have remotes. The purifying part is just a gimmick.

  • Is this a good product? Worth it?

    • I've had 2 of these break down within a month and ended up getting my money back at jb.
The oscillator would keep spinning and all the buttons and power cycle can't turn it off, it would spin as soon as you plug it into the wall outlet.

Once would've been alright but twice was too much for such an expensive fan, otherwise I had loved it, blows harder than the circled ones.

      • Thank you for your comment.

I then decide No to the deal :)

  • Can this thing actually lower the temperature of a room in cool mode? Or is it just a fan with heating element?

    • +2

      You want more cooling?

      That is an air con.

It just a fan with heating elements.

  • Could you price match with Good Guys to get it even lost ?

    • +1

Could you price match with Good Guys to get it even lost ?

If you're going to lose it why buy it in the first place?

      • Meant to say less, hahaha.

    • It's already $499 at The Good Guys, or $474.05 on their eBay store with code CAU5

  • $499 at jb hifi too until April 15.
