IKEA LADDA Rechargeable Battery AA 1000mAh 4 Pack $4.99 AAA, 500mAh 4 Pack $4.49

203

I thought it might be good to have a deal with the LADDA batteries with the ENE currency for comparison. edit, now that the ENE currency has gone for those who are wondering it was two eneloops for the 4 AA pack and 1.8 for the AAA pack
The 2450mAh versions are highly suspected to be the Fujitsu FDK/Eneloop Pros and I think based on similar arguments (country of origin etc) these would also likely be the same as the Eneloop lite.

From Ikea's website

Batteries with a low energy capacity (low mAh number) are particularly useful for products with a low energy consumption, such as remote controls, computer mice, keyboards or solar-powered products.

There is also this deal still running for the higher capacity (Eneloop pro comparable) batteries.

        Thank you.

Is there any way of buying these without having to go to IKEA?

    • +1

I wish, since I don't live near one and people have nicked my last couple of deliveries from my mail box…but no, in-store only unfortunately.

You want me to pay in Eneloops for Ladda batteries?

    Sorry, no deal.

    • Lol,he is just exchanging the foreign currency for his own good.
May be overthere doesn't accept envelopes but only accept laddas lol.

    • Eneloops for Aussies and Japanese
      Laddas for Swedish
      Varta for Germans
      Ultrafire for Chinese

      • Ah I knew Samsung used the Chinese batteries in their phones.

    $4.99 for 4 1000mAh AA?!?!?

why wouldn't you buy aldi AA for a $1 more and over double the capacity?

also, this is the Everyday price. No deal. Belongs in forum.

why wouldn't you buy aldi AA for a $1 more and over double the capacity?

Quality, I bought a 4 pack from ALDI and they are now in the bin, These are useful for low energy consumption products as I spelt out in the post.
Why would you buy ALDI for $6.99 when you can actually buy quality cells for $2 more if you have an IKEA nearby.

      • -1

You might as well buy BTY 3000mAH batteries.

50c in bulk for about the capacity of the Ikea ones.

Furthermore Eneloop Pro is garbage and nothing like the ordinary Japan Eneloops. (In terms of discharge rate and longevity)

        • +2

You might as well buy BTY 3000mAH batteries.

I have but they aren't low self-discharge so it's like comparing apples with oranges, also I bet if you test them they are nowhere near 3000mAh or rated anywhere near the cycles these are rated for.

Wow. This is real rubbish not even worth 10cents!

        • @Jamesx:

dude i wouldn't bother with these @ 5 cents, i was being sarcastic about it being a great purchase if you didn't get my drift

I bought a 4 pack from ALDI and they are now in the bin.

You should never put any kind of batteries in the bin. Aldi, Ikea & Battery World take old batteries for recycling.

        • +2

It could be battery recycle bin

      • I can confirm that most of my Aldi - AA batteries are in the bin already. Whereas even my oldest Eneloop is still working. The Aldi ones start showing "High" error in my charger.

These prices do not apply in WA/SA.

How is this a deal ?!?
This is the everyday price, and has been since at least last year…

It is worthy of the forums, so maybe tryagain ;-)

    • so maybe tryagain ;-)

I will, with one post in over 6 years you should probably also have that pep talk with yourself.

      • Agreed - I'm not exactly prolific, since I'm always late to the party ;-)

And that one post of mine was useful for virtually nobody :p

I also converse way too much, and this is just another example of an unnecessary response ;-)

I bough a pack 3 months ago, Made in Japan.

Bought the AA version. Can confirm they are also Japanese made.

    • I bought Aldi 4 pack lsd rechargeables AA and AAA for $5.99 each, Made in China.
They work great, will definitely buy more in the future.

  • good deal

  • +2

Lol. I clicked this thinking it was a ikea ladder for $5. My Bad :)

    • +1

Ladda would be too easy for this guy.

Incidentally, ladda means to load or, in the case of batteries, to charge

This brand reminds me of the crappy Russian car company

What's the difference between a Lada and a golf ball?

You can drive a golf ball 200 metres

  • Selling 1000mAH AAs in 2017 is not a deal, no matter how cheap they are. Come on Ikea, no other AAs have less than 2000mAh…

  • Do the 1000mah ones discharge slower than the higher capacity ladda's? I'm after some for my tv remote, but if it's just a matter of price I'll get the higher capacity ones.

    • In short, no. The rate of discharge depends on what is using the charge, how long that takes depends on the capacity of the battery.

      • Not what they were asking… IS there a limit to how fast they can discharge? If you want to use them in high drain devices, can these discharge fast enough? Even if they can (which I seriously doubt), they'd only last for about 5 mins with only 1000mAh in them, so why bother?

        • +1

Not what they were asking… IS there a limit to how fast they can discharge? If you want to use them in high drain devices

Rereading the comment neither interpretation really makes sense. I now think they meant was

Do the 1000mah ones self discharge slower than the higher capacity ladda's?

That would make sense in the context of a TV remote usage, and the answer is somewhat yes, the Eneloop Pro's are rated to 85% after 1 year where as the Eneloop Lite's are rated to 90% after 1 year but there isn't data that I have seen for the Eneloop Pro's for subsequent years.

What is the deal exactly OP? If it's normal price you should ask mods should remove it.

    • -1

As stated in the original post I thought it would be good to highlight the price of IKEA's LADDA batteries in comparison with Eneloops which worked especially well with the ENE currency. I had originally thought the yellow tag on their website also meant these were on special but were mistaken. The main reason these are a bargain is in comparison to Eneloops which are widely believed to be the same, but yes, this is their everyday price, that however doesn't mean that it isn't considered a deal and there are other examples of this.

      • -1

Thanks for the clarification. If there are other examples of normal prices which make it to the deals pages they too should be banished to forums.

        • -1

Plenty of ALDI deals like this one for you to DV as well as others then.

        • -1

@tryagain: these are special buys, only available for a very limited time. Nothing like your non-deal at all.

        • -1

@Possumbly: Well you can shift your goal post but your comment was about qualification was "normal prices" I didn't realise limited time availability equates to bargain.

        • @tryagain: No surprise there. You also didn't realise than a regular widely available price isn't a deal. Have some negs yourself kiddo.

        • @Possumbly:
Have a look at the posting guidelines and point me to what you are basing you stance on, then while you are at it have a look at the voting guidelines and tell me what you are basing your Neg on, just a tip third last line of Inappropriate uses of negative vote looks pretty identical to your reasoning.

        • -1

@tryagain: Yes it's way past time they updated guidelines but essentially they've been leaving deals to members to regulate. Mods have removed ACTUAL recurring deals to forums, for good reason. If this website gets spammed by "deals" like yours it will lose all credibility. Reason enough to NEG it. It's of even less relevance than the ridiculous 1.5% cashrewards posts.

        • -1

@Possumbly: So you are not basing your stance or voting on any of the extensive guidelines in any way what so ever? but on what you feel they should be changed too.

OK THEN! I won't waste any more of my time here.

        • -2

@tryagain: this is a DEALS website pal. Should I flood the site with deals from ALDI which are everyday prices but usually far better than what you'll usually find in Colesworth, or should I just mention it occasionally in comments? Personally I don't think spam's ever a good thing but each to his/her own.

Knock yourself out with these babies. Should be enough for a "Deal" or three.
