It's not a phone for me, it's for a family member, they have a very ageing Nokia 520 that no longer meets the 'tasks' as it has no apps at all. Just going to upgrade to a cheap pre-paid android phone.

Yep. I just wasn't sure if prepaid phones worked on re-seller networks.
If the Telstra locked phone was released in the last 3-4 years they must be unlocked to work with a Telstra's reseller's SIM, with the exception of Boost mobile
