Just received a text from school stating that the Premier has declared that school are to be closed due to weather.
But I see for what it is - budget cuts.
On a brighter note, work was also cancelled.
But I have the kids at home.

How do you figure? Casual teaching staff as schools wouldn't be that high, so I imagine they would still be paying all part time/full time staff.

Fill up your rainwater tanks, top that pool up, have a shower outside. All without needing to use town supply.
Just put the kids out side, tell them you need quiet for your drinking time.
Make sure you chain them somewhere where their squawking won't be heard by anyone though… And remember, although it's socially frowned upon, it is not illegal to call a child an arsehole.

Me too. I doubt sending the kids home today has saved the QLD government any money. Probably cost the government some coin to put the word out?
