Getting PS4 for Persona 5, Is PS4 Pro Worth It?

I dont play console, I play mainly PC but I loved P4G on my Vita clocked 100+ hours on it, P5 is coming and I want to play it.

So i'm deciding between PS4 or PS4 Pro, I heard about the "Boost Mode" which increases FPS in games, people that upgraded from PS4 to PS4 Pro, is it worth it?

Not too sure about how much processing power is needed for Persona 5, but here's my experience with both the release day original PS4 and release day PS4 Pro for FF15 (which hopefully gives you a little pointer if it is worth it or not):

The normal PS4 took about 1.5 min to load into the game while the PS4 Pro took only 30 seconds. But that doesn't necessarily mean that the PS4 Pro is 3 times the speed of the original since it is only load time. During gameplay I could say it is more or less the same, good smooth gameplay. I could claim that there is slightly more clarity, but I don't think 90% of eyes will care. FPS-wise, I honestly don't notice it.

Unless the game has the extra patch which unlocks PS4 Pro additional features, you're basically getting the same outcome with either console. The bonus with the PS4 Pro however is that you can potentially get games which can utilise the extra performance in the future (though you have mentioned that you don't console often). Or maybe Persona 5 already has the PS4 Pro compatibility patch, you should check that out I guess.

Hope that helps! Even though I was comparing with a different title.

This game runs on PS3, only pixelated a bit. Not worth buying PS4 Pro just for it

    • Is P5 on PS3 as well?

  • Thanks guys, just gonna grab a PS4 Slim
