  Sounds pretty fair, it's a Labour intensive job.. you need to Jack up the engine to do it

  Part should cost around $60, installation should take <2hrs/<$200.
  So total you should expect a fee of ~$200 for the job.

  Looks like they've charged you double.
  Which is inline of mechanics/places overcharging… (accepted but hated) common practice.

  $450 is about the value of Ford Focus 2005 , with a full petrol tank.
