  • So where does $1 a month as per title come in? I don't understand this offer..

    • hi - the normal access price is $6. When you use the coupon code, you get $5 taken off

  • -3

Oh, so its not minus $4 for the first 3 months then, cause thats what it says in the title, $1p/m (removed)

mod: please mind the language and no personal attack please.

    • -3

so use it only for 3 months and then change

    • hey.. please elaborate it in a good manner and way..

      • -1

Hmmm. If only rep deal posts were held to such high standards as negs apparently are.

  • +10

    "…8 month birthday"

Thats when all the best sales happen! :P

  • well what i understand from this is - if you go on the endeavour 6 plan(?) which is $6 they will minus $5 for the first 3 months making it $1 on the endeavour 6 plan for those months. after that it will go back to $6 a month.

The $20 starter pack makes it not worth it in my opinion, however there plans seem cheap.

  • So this offer is: Month 1=$1, Month 2=$1, Month 3=$1, Month 4 onwards=$6. Note the first month maybe part thereof as well. C'mon LiveConnected, you can do better for your 8th.

  • new customers only or can existing customers sign up for another sim?

  • Pretty sure it applies to new accounts.

  • +3

free sim card might be better

  • Voice & Video call Rate (per min):85c
    Flagfall: 35c

    Is that expensive?

    • +1

.. Nope.. Same as everyone else. Takes 2 seconds to find this out haha

    • optus extreme caps, all three and vodafone caps are 90cent per min as well

  • +2

make it clearer on title. Neg

    • +3

I really agree that the title is a bit misleading, since the offer is only valid for 3 months.

      • sorry all - we tried to put as much info as possible, but with limited characters we put in the description instead.

        • No you didn't, it never said anything about the normal price being $6/mo, it still doesn't. (it says it in the mod edit)

Hence my comment above about it costing negative $4 for the first 3 months, then $1/mo after that. Without the mod edit, that is exactly what it still says up there. ie. bait and switch.

Do not bother to sign up if you are an international student/migrant/temporary visa, they simply just ignore/close your order. On the contrary, signing up at Optus probably will consume quite a bit of effort but at least it can be done.

    • YOu need an australian drivers licence… not really a valid reason for a neg?

    • Did this happen to you?

I wonder why they would do this since there is no contract to this plan. I would think that some sort of identification would suffice.

      • +1

I'm an international student with a Australian P2 provisional driving license in Victoria. But at las, they simply rejected me because of my status as a migrant (fail credit check, refuse to proceed with the lengthy process of verifying me etc.). At least optus is willing to go through the process of checking my credit status etc.

        • Fair enough, sorry to hear your negative experience with them. Hopefully the rep will be able to clear things up. :)

        • hfhf - sorry to hear about your bad experience, unfortunately being a low cost provider, it is one of the things we have to compromise on. we can't afford to take on the same risks as a Voda or Optus.

          • +1

@liveconnected: Exactly, it is only right of you to put up on your site somewhere to inform non-Australians residing within Australia about your policy to not perform addition credit check to reduce operational cost, instead of wasting our time to deal with your customer support. Come on, its only $5/month, we could probably be billed for it yearly instead of monthly.

      • hi Pauly - its because of fraud. We credit check each customer, this helps us minimize the amount of fraud and bad debt, this in turn helps reduce the cost of the service as there's less fat we need to build in to cover ourselves.

unfortunately there will be times where someone might have a great credit record overseas but because we're not able to verify, the application will not be accepted.

        • +1

But why do customers need to go through so much trouble for such a cheap line?

  • +3

misleading title. You need to mention $5 credit for 1st 3 months.

  • +2

Agree with the above, this is simply misleading. You need to mention that the $1 a month only for the first three month. Better yet, make it more transparent by saying $5 off for the first 3 month on $6 / month plan.

Big neg. You are a rep, be transparent with your product and the nature of the deal. Don't advertise.

Edit: Just realised there is no contract. So I say feel free to "abuse" this (if you can be bothered with $15 discount) by signing up, then signing out after three months.
(I don't usually promote such behaviour, but in this case, I don't like how the reps not being transparent in their post. So…)

  • kinda hard to understand the situation, can someone suggest a better title?

$5 off $6 plan for first 3 months - 12 month min contract

    • Good on you Pauly. Now it's much more transparent. Great work! :)

It's really shameful to see salesperson who can't even be frankful about their own product. It's almost like admitting that his/her product is inferior to others available on the market, so something needs to be 'hidden' from potential customers to make it more attractive (and 'trap' the customers).

PS: Personally, I think this is a good deal represented badly. Not sure why the reps can't be totally transparent in the first place, making it seems that s/he is lacking confidence in his/her own good product.

      • The rep may have excluded the 3-month only clause due to length restrictions in the title. I'm giving this the benefit of the doubt since this was included in the description. :)

    • Hi - no, no contract.

  • +3

Ok, title changed and added clarity in description.

As per voting guidelines, removing all negative votes due to misleading title since the description has been corrected.

    • Thanks, much better now.

  • +1

I agree with everyone saying it is a misleading title, however, I certainly don't think this is a bad deal at all.

Firstly, even WITHOUT this promotion, this is already a pretty cheap plan. Cheap. Good for low-volume users.

As for customer service, from what I've read here, it's not that great, but honestly, you can't expect quality customer service when you're paying this little. You get what you pay for (especially in this case).

No contract makes this another big plus.

    • As for customer service, they had a bad period but have been perfect lately. Both on facebook and their system. Get a quick response with any queries and I havnt had any problems with the last 6 months ive been with them :D

      • Even better.
Oh and, with this promotion that they're currently running, you are not losing anything at all. Nothing is compromised. You are simply saving $15 all up over 3 months.

  • no data? what's the casual rate?

    • Hi

You can add a data pack.
The PAYG data rate is $0.0013/Kb. (billed per KB).

  • When signing up be careful as they still havent fixed their billing system, i raised a request to fix the overcharge last wed and havent heard a thing yet. Customer service is poor, watch what you are getting yourself in.

    • hi - do you have a case number? its strange that you haven't been responded to yet. will chase this up for you.

  • From this posting.. I conclude that the biggest negative is the fact that international students/migrants are not able to sign up. hfhf's case is quite a big warning to anyone in a similar position, but honestly, you guys (Live Connected) should really make it absolutely crystal clear that you don't accept international students/migrants. It would be a ridiculous waste of time for them to go through the application, only to be rejected on grounds such as these.
