Ergohuman V2 Ergonomic Mesh Office Chair $463.20 + $22.76 Shipping @ Temple & Webster eBay

C20HOME

Great ergonomic office chair for a bargain price. Bought it 12 days ago with out the 20% off code and it was worth it then.
For those who doesn't know the brand Ergohuman they are a Taiwanese manufacturer. One of the first in China to produce ergonomic chairs.
Their V1 Mesh chairs has had great reviews in the chinese market and one of the leading Chinese manufacturers.

Those chairs usually go for around $500AUD on Chinese sites such as Taobao with custom patterned zebra meshing (like the ones temple and webster) costing around the $700AUD. For $463AUD is absolute steal if your in the market for a decent ergonomic office chair.

Some one mentioned this is a V2 Elite model of the chair with custom fabric option.

  • Taiwan != China

    • +8

depends on who you ask ;)

    • +2

      Taiwan != China

Taiwan == Republic of China (RoC)
Mainland China == People's Republic of China (PRoC)

  • +3

its a good product because TAIWAN NUMBA WAN!

  • Pity you only get 12 months warranty rather than 10 years from the manufacturer.

  • -3

isn't ergonomic just a matter of opinion?

    • +1

so if i sat on a wooden stick and thought it felt good, i could claim it's ergonomic?

      • -3

        technically, yes.

    • No there really are chairs that are better for the majority of people.

    • Only if you're an alien with a completely different anatomy.

  • I can't find this Chair model on their website i.e. the Link you have provided. Is this an obsolete model.

    • Its the latest version V2. only difference with the official site is the zebra pattern mesh design (which costs more).

      • The seller has updated the link now and it says V1.

        • So confusing with the pic showing a v2

        • i've posted several links of what the V1 looks like. mine looks EXACTLY like the pics in the listing which is a V2 Elite.

        • Even more confusing, the seller updated it AGAIN and took V1 back off…

Interestingly, the description states it has a
          '4D Armrest'
Which is a V2 only feature (this was there even when the listing said V1)

  • +2

    Thanks OP

I got downgrade one without additional back support in my China home, which cost me 1400 CNY = 266 AUD, currently, the Taobao dealer in China sells this chair for 3306 CNY = 628.86 AUD.

    Real bargain!

  • So… How do these compare with those $1000 Herman Miller chairs that seems to have every OzBargainers seal of approval?

    • +2

I have one for nearly 2 years from MD and I am sitting over 6 hours a day. Now it still looks like new. Compare with HM it's a different level of course. With about $500 less that is your first choice. But don't choose if your height is under 172cm because this chair is heighter when adjust to lowest.

      • which chair is for the taller person? aeron or this?

        • +1

If you are taller then this is not a issue. All depends on your budget.

      • +1

Any idea what is a good chair then if height is under 172cm. Wife is 150cm

        • Sorry flex350 you got to take your wife to try any others, I don't have a answer for your wife but I'm definitely sure this one is not suitable for your wife.

        • +1

@chrishan66: what makes it not suitable for shorter people? Is it a design flaw? A bit concerning considering the price

        • @Orpheus:
As I said this chair designing higher than normal others office chairs. Shorter people sitting too long may not feel comfortable. My wife is shorter who told me this was not good for her. Unless you use less hours a day.

    • +2

The HM Aeron chairs have a mesh seat which I find useful for hearing the full sound of my exhaust. A cheaper alternative is this.

      • -1

it depends. a highly pressurised exhaust system expelling air forcefully against a more solid material amplifies the longitudinal sound waves to produce more bass and consequently, more volume.

    • Some people prefer these. I much prefer the Aeron.

Kinda weird there is no decent knockoff, surely it wouldn't cost much to make.

  • Why isn't It 10 years warranty?

  • Pretty good review of this chair https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAt13FQQRzI

  • Been sitting on this chair for two years now, I'd say they are really comfortable. Good deal.

  • Are you sure it is the V2 as T&W on their website only sell the V1 at the same price?

  • +1

definitely a v2 Elite, easiest way to tell is to look at the spokes on the chrome base. v1 are straight angular spokes. v2 (and luxury) spokes are a little more curved.

to differentiate luxury vs. v2, look for the extra chrome just under the armrest on a luxury.

    see here

    http://ergohuman.com.au/ergohuman-standard-vs-elite-vs-luxur…

    • Out of interest does the your 1 have the wingnut under the rear of the base to adjust base seat tilt?. I tried to see in the pics and couldn't tell properly.

      • +1

no it doesn't have the wingnut for seat tilt.

  • +2

I can vouch for this chair as well; I've had it for about 4 years now. Great relief for my neck and back.

    • Also at steal at this price; I paid around $600 back in the day.

  • I bought this chair for me at work, much to the annoyance of my boss (As he paid) but as I sit in it 10 hours a day.

I find it far more comfy than most other chairs I have sat in and I don't get a bad back any more.

I also get plenty of comments about being sat in the chair in charge of the starship enterprise.

At this price, its a great bargain.

  • +1

This is a good chair, have one atm. I think it comes with a 10 year warrenty…. at least thats my deal. the armrest gaave outt he other day, they just sent me the new part. Ez

  • btw Postage is $32.50, not $22.76

    • It's $22.76 to Sydney, which is odd that it appears to be the same price as shipping to Vic..

    • Postage varies on location.
      $97 to Hobart
      $162 to Christmas Island
Interestingly it only cost $12 to Norfolk Island!!

  • Does anyone know if there is somewhere that we can go to test one of these chairs?

  • I have one for more than 5 years, looking for replacing the part of the mesh seat with leather seat. unfortunately, no one support this chair. very comfy and ergonomics. It definitely smash all business chairs, gaming chairs in local retails.

  • I remembered this V2 is 35kgs,trust me for $463AUD is absolute steal just as Creamsoda said.

  • -1

    It is v1

  • It is totally confusing. The title says V1 whereas the photos all indicate V2. Let's see what gets delivered.

  • Just received it, can confirm its the V2.

    • how many did they take to deliver ? I need to arrange that I could not take day off on some days, thanks.

      • 4 days to Melbourne for me. You may have to organise a delivery time with them as they had a guy deliver and i had to help him lift it in.

        • thanks,

  • -1

why are people still questioning if this is a V1 or V2? bloody nuts. i'm sitting on this chair right now and its V2 ELITE!!!! dont buy it if you think its V1. i'm sure all those people who believed me has grabbed a bargain.

    • Maybe because in the title of the eBay listing it originally said V1? Maybe because they didnt have actual photos, just a stock image? Maybe because they never confirmed what version it is?

      • how about believe what i posted because i bought the damn thing and believe the actual product photos? stock images? wth? how are they stock images? also the listing originally didn't say V1 was changed mid way and changed back with in a day.

        • If you had received it at the time of posting it, why didnt you make that clearer? Would have saved alot of confusion. And yes, they are stock photos from the manufacturer. And if they themselves changed it to V1, why would you assume its anything else?

        • @Orpheus:
how clear you want it to be? its on the title V2 and description "bought this 12 days ago” not to mention countless follow up posts here with several people who has bought it mentioned its V2. whats wrong with photos from the manufacturer? all the big retail outlets use them? they've made a mistake with the V1 title changes. mate you seems to have a bone to pick.

        • @Creamsoda: How? You are the one getting defensive and taking it personally. It was unclear if it was V1 or V2 from the title change. I also emailed them and they did not know which model it was either.

  • Does anyone know of a place in Brisbane I can test drive this chair? I've tried Google and can't find a damn thing. I'm really torn on this one. On the one hand, the reviews are generally favourable but on the other, it's really a subjective thing and I'm reluctant to part with $500 without being confident it'll be comfortable.

I'm 192cm (6'4") tall and 92kg. Anyone with a similar stature own one of these and care to comment? Some of the review I've read have commented that the mesh seat gets uncomfortable after an hour of sitting. Others comment that the lumbar support digs into your back when you recline. Anyone else have similar experience with it?

    • I'll answer my own question. After some more research and reading, it turns out Empire Furniture sells them and rebrands them as 'Genius Executive' (credit to Glarch over at Whirlpool). I went into a store and tried it on for size. I'm glad I did. It's not for me. The lumbar support doesn't reach high enough up my back and the seat is very narrow. I'm a pretty skinny dude (92cm waist) and the outsides of my thighs sit on the frame of the seat. That doesn't seem right to me. I would expect nothing but mesh to be supporting my weight. It's actually not that comfortable for what is supposed to be a high end chair. The other thing I found annoying is that it has a ratchet style adjustment on the backrest that doesn't appear to lock, so if you bump it or wriggle in your seat, it drops back to the bottom. I've experienced that with other office chairs and it really annoys the hell out of me.

Of course, these are my own opinions but if anyone else is built like me, I strongly suggest you try one before splashing the cash. On the plus side, it does seem decent quality.

They also had their version of the v1 in store (they call it the 'Hum Executive'). The seat on that is better for me but it suffers from the same issue in that the lumbar support doesn't reach high enough up my back to be of any use at all. Without any contribution from the lumbar support, it might as well be any other mesh chair.

      • +1

I am not sure, if you looked at the same chair. All the observations you have made are not true about the chair that is in this deal.

      • +1

Are you sure its a simple rebrand? Looking on their website, some parts of the chair look similar, while other parts look completely different. The back part for example. Also if youre talking about the back piece that can repositioned uo and down, it definitely does lock firmly into place, and you need to press the two buttons the unlock it.

        • No, I'm not sure it's a simple rebrand. I'm basing it on the Whirlpool post and the appearance of the chair. It is possible they are reselling a clone of the chair from a different supplier. I'd say it's unlikely they are big enough to have Ergohuman make a custom version just for them. The only way to tell is to get my hands on an Ergohuman branded chair and see how it compares. A bit late as far as this deal goes but maybe next time.

        • I just had a look myself and compared the images of the chairs. I reckon you're right - it's similar but not the same. Thank you for pointing that out.

My experience taught me something though. You definitely need to try before you buy with office chairs. While I was at Empire, I must have tried 25 other chairs - including the Herman Miller Aeron and Mirra - and of all the chairs I tried, the most comfortable was close to the cheapest chair. The Aeron and Mirra were good but I couldn't say $1500 good. Being 192cm is a challenge, it seems. Almost all the chairs lacked sufficient adjustment to my frame. Seat depth and back height were all just short of the mark.

  • Hi,

I received it today and can confirm it is V2 as well. Thanks @Creamsoda

    Cheers

  • I received it yesterday, feels good. Are we sure it is V2 or a mix of V1 or V2. Looking at this Video on Youtube, I am not sure, as I don't have the controls as mentioned in this Video. There is no name of Ergohuman anywhere on the Chair or any packaging or any paperwork. or is it a fake Ergohuman, as Ergohuman gives 10 year warranty as compared to 1 year by this seller. Saying that the Chair feels Robust and feels like will easily last 10 years.
