  • Is't it 40% off $60 which would be more like $36?

    • It is 40% off $99.95 for non-PS Plus members and 80% off $99.95 for PS Plus members

      • AH right, gotacha!

  • +8

Square are so weird when it comes to pricing. They want more than $30 for the PC port of an old PS1 game (FFIX), but their new release Triple A game that reviewed well, already down to $20.

    • +1

      Nostalgia is a strong allure.

  • +17

Never buying a game on release date ever again.

    • +2

Yeah I've been trying to do this for the last year or so.

It's crazy sometimes within a month or two you can scoop games up really cheap.

    • Depends how much you care about ppl spoiling the plot while you wait. Same deal with movies.

    • I save plenty of money by picking up games on my backlog and adding new games to said backlog. They usually show up on sale before I'm ready to play them.

Plus you can usually snag complete editions for less than release price.

  • Pretty cheap for a game only released 4 months ago. Waiting for Mafia 3 to go to $20.

    • +2

Game isn't that good, too repetitive. Enjoyed mafia 2 a lot more.

      • Oh really? I love Mafia 2 that's the reason why I want to get Mafia 3. I guess the game is not well received?

        • Its a good game still, but halfway onwards you are just doing the same missions, just in different zones. Gets annoying real quick. Still a good game though.

        • @mouski:

          Thanks,

Will check it out when its in the bargain bin. :)

  • +2

So can we join the trial for 14 days and buy this and enroll out of the trial o.O

    • +1

      yes.

    • Good suggestion!
But cannot play on line after the ps plus expired?

      • +2

Game is singleplayer only anyway, if you meant in general then yeah you have to keep subscribing

        • +1

They're working on a multiplayer dlc but it'll be the last one released

        • @ZeroSoul:
          Huh, consider me educated.

      • Yeah I'm not into online gaming, I pretty much stick to story driven RPGs, so sounds like a killer deal to me TBH

    • Yup. That's what I just did

      • Any trick to getting the free trial?

Edit: Never mind, think I can't get it because I've been a member before.

        • I've never been a member before so I guess thats why it worked for me.

I think you can get a 1 month membership for $10 so $30 for FFV isn't too bad I guess

        • +1

Always worth checking this: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/295018 .. I was able to get one month for a few bucks, which when timed right can give 2 months worth of PS+ games and also access to offers like this

        • @roadeh: this is still active! :)

          link

  • +1

    Gotta be a pricing error.

  • +1

thats crazy price…. another game i don't have time to play but will buy because it's a bargain……. :)

  • Thanks!

  • +2

A 43GB download, so make use of the newly added external usb hdd support.

    • Don't forget the patches…

      • +2

        Yep, over 63GB total.

        • +1

          Wow. There goes my quota.

FFXV is supposed to have contents for 3 continents yet there is only one, 19.99 out of 60 seems to be its true value.

    • Huh? What kind of logic is that?
A game that has 100+ hours of content is only worth $20?

      • I played for 130+ hours, finished the game twice and loved every minute of it.

Don't get caught up in the internet negativity and play the games for yourself.

        • I platinumed this game and bought the day one edition on day one, with ce guide and t-shirt.

It is normal there are people who are utterly satisfied with this game, however, it is true this is indeed an incomplete game which didn't finish the contents that are suppose to be there for the other 2 continents.

  • +9

Don't forget to get some more games from Double Discounts to qualify for Spend $75 Now and Get $15 Credit in April promotion.

For those who don't have PS Plus membership, PlayStation Plus Subscription $1.40 for One Month is still valid.

    • Thank you, would give you two upvotes if i could.

  • Anybody have a PS plus trial code?

  • +4

The game is not perfect, but it is a lot of fun. Enough so to keep you playing until the end. For 20 dollars, do not pass this up. it is well and truly worth it. The music in this game is really something special, the story is enough to get you through but needs work and the combat is fun when the camera works well

  • That's crazy cheap - especially from the official PS store. Doubt you'll even find it 2nd hand for that price in the next 6 months.

Is it true that more story/game content is still to be released as free DLC?

  • Good golly

  • +1

The best bargain ever on PSN, I'd say. Jeepers.

  • finish…

  • -1

Take that digital knockers, between this and the Resident Evil bundle this week :)

    • +11

      I prefer physical knockers myself

A few other notable deals from this 'double discount' PS Plus sale.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - Digital Deluxe Edition - $43.47 (standard is $27.97)
    Forestry 2017 - The Simulation - $21.97
    The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - $28.77
The Telltale Games Collection (includes 5 full series) - $45.27
    DOOM - $17.95

Looks like these sales end tomorrow 11am.

Edit: Seems the FF15 sale may be an Aussie store exclusive, and unrelated to the double discount sale. Wow!

    Edit2: More MASSIVE bargains - lasting until 10am 6/4/2017
    inFAMOUS Second Son™ - $9.70
    Until 6/4/2017
    The Last of Us™ Remastered - $18.65
    God of War® III Remastered - $11.35

    • It's not Aussie store exclusive. £9 in UK store.

  • Never played the FF series before - is this game worth buying, or do I need to get earlier versions to get up to date with backstory?

    • Probably need a spare lifetime to catch up. I'll take the plunge at this price, not my type of game normally but for the price…

    • +1

All Final Fantasy "main series" games (that is, the numbered ones) are completely separate from each other. No need to have played the other 14.

      • +1

Great, I think I'll take advantage of this bargain then!

    • Most FF games are completely separate stories. They take place in the same Universe however and share the same gods in all worlds. This game however has technology and references to FF6 but that has no bearing at all in this game. Just cameo.

  • Also the premium edition is $55.17 for ps plus members

    Includes the following:

    • FINAL FANTASY XV
    • In-Game Camera Kit
    • In-Game Platinum Leviathan Recolour
    • Digital Mini-Soundtrack
    • DPE-Exclusive FINAL FANTASY XV Original Theme
    • Season Pass
    • If it does include the Season Pass, could definitely be worth it with this inclusion alone as it normally costs $40 (the other cosmetic additions depend on personalities).

  • This promotion still active?https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/294857 It would make the 1 year subscription plus this worth it.

  • Cheers! Bought it!!

Was going to get a physical copy because they're more cool but this will do since it would be half of market price on eBay.

  • Crapola! I thought picking up a disc version for $30 was awesome. geez 1 week too late.

    • That's still a great price - where did you get the disc version from?

    • +2

Nah, saving yourself 40gb and being able to sell / lend it later is still good.

      • So true. Got a copy off gumtree, in basically brand new condition, for $26 two weeks ago. Should be able to sell it in a couple weeks for the same price. I was buying digital for a while, but have came to my senses again. The ability to avoid large downloads, actually own the game with the potential for resale makes physical usually the clear winner if youre a true bargainer. Just have to shop around and negotiate a little.

  • I would buy it but ita 63gb to download. I only have 200 per month lol

  • +1

just off a closed facebook gaming swap sell site I found through facebook marketplace. pretty awesome actually - people just want to play the game and swap it for something else current.

    • mind if I ask which game swap site?

      • gaming consoles geelong buy swap sell swap - some of the guys deliver if your local and also mail for a fee.

  • OMG this is the cheapest deal ever on XV!

dont even have to buy through Canada/US PSN but have to get ps plus trial on another account to get this deal since my ps plus is on canada

  • Thankyou heaps, this is the first FF game from main series that i never bought on launch. It paid off. Really appreciated buddy.

  • I literally bought mine for $20 physical copy on ebay's cdarker code. Just added another $10 worth of batteries then all good. :) This must be a pricing error, can't see it on deals and offers section. Excellent find! Grab it while it last!

    • -8

Don't bring up the words 'pricing error' or you'll be downvoted like I was for some reason.

      • Because it's not a pricing error.

  • +2

those that have the previous $10 off $40 amex spend at BP, will cost you $16 if you buy a $50 PSN card at BP.

  • I am honestly extremely surprised this price, game released on January and $20 for 14 days in March! _

    • the game wasn't released in January

      • I know right, the date in PSN Store is confusing and I got confused. even though it was released on November, its a great price

    • +1

      Released November 29th world wide.

      • yes exactly, the psn page got me confused

  • How about xbox one version?

    • +3

they dont sell that on the sony ps store … definitely not to ps+ members .. lol

  • Can anyone comment on whether the Digital Premium Edition is worth it?

Normally any base game + season pass for $55 is great value but the base game here is only $20 and I'm not sure whether I'll get the same amount of play time out of the additional $35 spend.

Noted the season pass is currently selling stand-alone for $37 so one could just buy it later on…

    • off-track: interesting name, have not seen any bengal tiger in Australia, only in india and Bangladesh's Sunderban lol

    • It's hard to say because none of the season pass extra story DLC episodes have been released

  • Great game, well worth the price.

Just wish the season pass would come down in price… $40 is excessive. I guess there's no DLC for it as yet so no real loss though.

  • Nice, can't resist a good deal of games, now in my backlog like the other hundreds of games I have on steam…

  • +1

What? This can't be real!!!! :(

  • +1

    Thanks OP, amazing deal.

  • I am newbie at Final Fantasy but interested at this price, what makes it so good?

  • even cheaper on UK store lmao

Here for GBP 9.99 with PS Plus trial or full membership

GBP 10 card for AUD $14.87

create uk psn account, buy card from offgamers, redeem the code, activate trial ps plus via paypal or something else, buy the game, set account as primary ps4, enjoy the game for 14.87 rather than 19.99 lol

    • what's up with the negative vote lol? dont you want savings?

  • Thanks for posting this. Great price.

  • I can't seem to subscribe to the 14 day trial. Never had a PS Plus membership before. Error msg says "Your purchase may not be complete. Check your transaction history in your Account settings." Any ideas? Nvm, figured it out.

  • Wow, not only did i buy this on psn for full price a few months ago, but i havent actually got around to playing it yet !!!!.

    Good find OP
