  • Great tv for the price.
No lag when playing xbone or PS4
Shame Foxtel only do HD not UHD

    • How was this playing fps. E.g. Battlefield

  • Excellent TV, have the 65inch version.

  • Delivery is showing $40.** for me

    Am I doing something wrong

    • +1

Must have been an error, it's back to $40.34 now. Fixed up thanks.

  • Dammit… i have the money but do I NEED this?….. omg

    • +5

This is ozbargain. Resistance is futile.

You dont question wether you need it before buying. You ask yourself what can i do with this after buying.

  • how come places like myer have huge 4k TVs like this on display for around 8 grand? What makes this TV so much worse that it's only 2.3 grand?

    • It's doesn't it's just the name. Pretty sure this heat out samsung and LG last year. Only thing it lost against was sound I believe

      • +1

        maybe it's not OLED

      • It's doesn't it's just the name.

Wow, that is a rather ignorant statement, as was the rest of it.
Comparing this to what exact Samsung and LG models? I gather you meant "beat", and by your statement it beat them in all aspects except sound, but that is a baseless comment without listing the compared model.

        • +4

Don't have to get all snuke about it.

    • +4

First, a good portion of the price is brand recognition/marketing, Hisense can't charge that type of price, they haven't built their brand name to justify it.
After that, you have all kinds of technical reasons, as you listed already OLED, which is far more expensive to produce, and also due to the superior image can demand a price premium.
Some of those tech things are the colour range and accuracy, the light output measured in NITS for HDR requirements. The Hisense is only 400 NITS, so falls way short of the HDR Premium requirement of 1000 NITS that the others can produce (OLED is a different story with NITS due to perfect black levels). LG and now Sony Z9 series also have Dolby Vision, that costs money to license.
These Hisense do punch far above their weight, but do still fall short on many aspect compered to their counterparts equivalent. So it comes down to paying more for an increase in quality, but to what degree and what quality increase are you prepared to pay for.

      • In regards to image quality tho I believe that This Hisense wins compared to others in its range - LED

        • Others in the Hisense range?

        • @snuke:

I read on review that this TV has better image then some Samsungs etc

        • @Twisty:

          "Some" being the operative word.

        • @snuke:

True but to get better then this I would have to see the price you would be spending

        • @Twisty:

That's how it generally works, pay more for better quality,

        • @snuke:
More then double tho for not that much better?

      • I use to sell Hisense 15 years ago, its amazing what the quality is like now compared to then. Great for the price

  • What are the differences between the 75" and 70" model except for size and 3D?

    • I think the 70 inch Is back lit and this is edge lit. I think the 70 inch is better

      • +1

Cheers, I have just been checking the Hisense site and it claims the 75 inch has backlight control and local dimming (same as the 70 inch):
        https://hisense.com.au/product/75-uled-tv-series-7/

Is that just smoke and mirrors?

      • Not sure why my comment is down voted. I was under the impression the 70 is backlit and the 65/75 is edge lit.

    • I went to my local JB this morning. They said that the 75" is top lit and the 70 is side lit. They were also willing to do the 65" for $1800

  • +1

    Pulled the trigger

  • This is such a good deal. damn you ozbargains In the nicest possible way!

  • Purchased! I'm hiring a van tomorrow to pick this sucker up.

    • wouldn't it be cheaper and less hassle to pay the $40 delivery fee?

      • 3-7 working days delivery time. I can hire a van for $60 and have a new toy this weekend.

        • +1

          Uber it?

        • +1

Bunnings have ute hire for $25 an hour if aren't far from the closest TGG.

  • ey dude can i also chip in for your van and you can help deliver it tomorrow?

    • +4

  • +3

Does anyone know what the input lag is like while playing games?

    • +2

I got one of these late Feb found no input lag. Both on xbone and PS4

      • +1

Not sure why I've got a downvote but thanks for the information.

        • +1

Yer me either no probs I'll give you a plus

  • Please educate me.
Why would you get this when you can get a 55" LG OLED on ebay for $500 more,

Its too big for most rooms - and not as good picture as the OLED.

AM i missing something ? Gaming?

    • +1

You need a bigger room, then you'll get it.

      • ok i hear you
i'll get it and set up my garage

        • +2

Lol! Set it up in your neighbors garage, and put a deck chair out on the street, for movie nights of course!

          But seriously, I think its a size thing,… don't ask me, i'm only packing a 65"

        • +1

"Size does matter" - my wife 2017

    • +2

I sit about 4m from mine, and I wish I had the money to get a 85" or a 100" ;… No such thing as a TV too big for a room unless it won't physically fit :D

      • Same theatre lounge about 3.5 from screen. Love it

    • The OLEDs I've seen at Myer on display seem to have some kind of burn in :(

  • +1

Bought this TV at JB Hi-Fi today for $2,365 (inc delivery). I posted it with receipt but the mod claimed it was a pricing error and I had the luck that no one else would.

    BoL all buyers.

    • +1

      • Some guy noticed I was from OzBargain when talking to the rep. Let him in that I actually did get it for $2,300 + $65DEL and he bought one on the spot following me :)

        • Yeah i saw your post and showed him the receipt but he didnt budge.

        • +1

          @radem12:

          Shame mate :(

    • Lowest My JB would go is $2500.

      • Feel free to pm for receipt.

  • Total shame they skimped on the FALD tech present on their 70", otherwise it'd be a no brainer

  • What happened to the HN deal that was closer to 2k for this weekend?

    • HN rep said it was for the 70" not the 75"

      • Ah thanks.

        Still very tempting.

  • Just bought it :)

  • +1

Can this get HDR in some capacity with an update?

    • It has HDR.

      • Yer but does it make a difference ?

        • Yes

        • @T1OOO:

But on this TV being only 400 NITS does it ?

        • @Twisty:

According to some owners, yes, obviously not as great as those that are over 1,000 NITS.

        • @snuke:

But then how much are you spending compared to $2400ish

        • @Twisty:

A fcktonne I think is the extra amount.

        • @snuke:

          Hahahahh

  • Wish I had a big enough room

  • +1

Could be known to most but given the price I'll mention, worth entering eBay through velocity store not qantas store as you get 2 points per dollar spent instead of 1

    • +1

      or Cashrewards

  • the next generation Hisense TVs must be coming out soon. Worth waiting? Wont be this cheap though
