DJI Mavic Pro 4K Quadcopter $1570 (AMEX) or $1590 from Videopro

60

Cheapest I've seen the Mavic Pro drone, most Australian stores yet to receive stock.

Videopro: $1590 at less the $20 AMEX Multi-brand offer = $1570 Free shipping, no CCard surcharge.
Umart (NO STOCK): $1699 + $24.48 CCard Fee - $20 AMEX Offer = $1704 Pickup/extra for shipping

Moving overseas in a few weeks, so I can qualify for the TRS (as these sellers actually include GST). VP TRS = $1426.

Would love one of these, can get it cheaper from os - e.g. http://www.geekbuying.com/item/Mavic-Pro-Mini-Foldable-Quadc… US$999

  • Unfortunately neither Videopro or Umart are authorised DJI partners…

    • What does that mean then? No DJI Care?

      • DJI won't honour warranty on these units

        • +1

assuming that VP or Umart then will warranty it ??

        • @Willy Orwontee:

I suppose the usual consumer rights / protection will apply.

          @zuccs:
Good question - not sure whether you'd be able to apply DJI Care Refresh for a drone purchased from a non-authorised partner

        • You can… I bought mine from a seller and bought the Care Refresh when I activated the drone.

        • ….

        • @hondo:

Sure — but the real question is whether you could successfully claim under Care Refresh for a drone bought from a non-authorised seller

This has been discussed to death before, it didn't matter what country or from whom you buy the Mavic from but you can buy the damage warranty in the country you reside in and be covered.

@devpress: I am currently claiming Care Refresh with them now. It was the Mavic Pro I bought in China and bought the Care Fresh on via DJI Australian store. The aircraft has been picked up this afternoon and en route to Melbourne now.

        • @Maverick-au:

I suggest you re-read the post again.

This has nothing to do with which country you may be covered. My point/question is to do with claiming DJI care refresh on a drone purchased from a non-authorised dealer, irrespective of country

No I suggest you read my post again.

I said in my post it doesn't matter from what country OR from whom it was purchased to obtain and claim on DJI care.

And even so called unauthorised sellers buy from official sellers so you are covered, this has also been discussed to death when they first came out. Go back and read all the posts here and on Whirlpool about this.

          @Maverick-au:

I can do one better - go ask DJI themselves.

And guess what? DJI has confirmed that there is no guarantee they will honour DJI care refresh for drones purchased from unauthorised retailers. Transcript below.

Now I have no doubt some have managed to claim CR on their drones from unauthorised sellers. This seems to be a grey area and YMMV.

At the end of the day, claiming forthright that there are no issues with claiming the warranty regardless of "… country or from whom you buy the Mavic from" because others on Whirlpool have managed to do this - but omitting or disregarding what DJI's position on this is doing the community a disservice.

For a small additional charge, DJI Care Refresh offers up to two replacement units. Water damage is also covered! Purchase now

Hello, very glad to help you! What can I do for you?
          19:15

          Me
Hi Sierra. I was wondering whether it was possible to purchase DJI care refresh and apply it onto a drone that i purchased from a non-DJI authorised retailer?
          19:16

          Sierra
Is it activated more than 48 hours

          Me
          no

          Sierra
I cannot guarantee it will be covered if its not bought on an authorize reseller

          Me
          I see

          Me
          no that's all thanks

          Sierra
Thank you for contacting DJI support. Have a good day.

  • Do they have stock?

    • sadly just out :(

  • Cheaper here $1509 Aussie seller
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/272579492615

    • Not really an Aussie seller. Location says HK for seller and t and c's say:
All items are despatched from Our AU/HK Warehouse.

    • If I recall this is US stock with aus seller warranty.

  • Pretty sure this was $1478 from Ted's earlier this year, so no not the cheapest ever. And I think it's just a case of placing an order and waiting for stock.

  • I recommend you spend the extra $500 and get the Mavic Pro Combo. Bought from this seller and received it within a week. Also the seller responds to messages very quickly:

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/262774718807

    • Why's that? Just better value?

      • +1

In addition to the standard accessories, the Fly More Combo features:

two additional flight batteries (three total),
two additional propeller pairs (five total),
        Car Charger
        Battery Charging Hub
        Battery Power Bank Adaptor
Shoulder Bag to carry the Mavic around in.

I say it's worth spending the extra $500 for those.
