Components for a small business with webshop -

Would the following be sufficient to build a website with a small webshop:

  1. Domain and Hosting from Zuver (as advised in response to a similar question I asked a while ago)
  2. Getting wordpress PhP as the website builder
  3. Getting Prestashop PhP as the shop front - are there any free or cheapgreat alternatives?
  4. Getting a free payment processor for paying online (MC, Visa, Eftpos, Paypal needed) - which one would be the cheapest both in terms of acquisition and ongoing business costs (monthly turnover of $3,000 for the webshop component to start out with)

Would those elements be enough to run a website for a small business having a webshop with maybe 50-100 different products?

I have built websites using website builders before - what really confuses me a bit is the webshop and payment processing element.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    • Quite pricey compared to this though. Any cheaper alternatives?

      • You've spelled PHP incorrectly twice; which is really hard given it's a recursive acronym. Your terminology suggests that you can google but don't quite get it. Shopify et al is going to be a far cheaper alternative than the labour intensive task of "using an x, y and z builder to hack together an XYZ". To answer your question though … Yes they would be more than sufficient. I can't comment on the host, however, as it is shared hosting and I have no idea how oversold their nodes are.

        • Thanks. Zuver is being highly recommended by several people here - hence that choice. It is part of VentraIP I believe which is also highly recommended. Also, while I appreciate Shopify might be easier I am averse against being held ransom for the domain if I ever want to change.
I hope WordPress or prestashop installed via cPanel should do the trick. I guess I just have to try for now.
          Thanks for your insight.
