It usually $49.50 for sashimi grade scallops at the Aptus Seafood South Melbourne Markets.
Not sure what type of markup that is.
Scallops at that price would be coming from either China or Japan…still a good product but tough to compare
I am pretty sure it's local. Most of their products are. I'll check with them the next time I am there. It's so fresh if doesn't taste imported.

havent been to fish market for a while so not sure what to expect
not sure about other state but if u live in melbourne , go to Vic market u can pick up sushi grade salmon for $35/kg and kingfish $20 / kg im not sure where is the bargain here? I guess your prices factors in postage etc.. but heck thats a huge mark up!
