$150 off Koala Mattresses for World Sleep Day - Single $500, King Single $600, Double $700, Queen $800, King $900

50
ONEMOREHOUR

And another $150 off Koala…

With World Sleep Day tomorrow, we're encouraging Australians to take their health seriously by committing to one more hour of sleep this weekend. To get you started, we are offering you a $150 discount off your mattress, so you can get involved and enjoy and the extra hour on your brand new Koala mattress.

My experience: I got a Koala queen a month ago to try and do not like it. They have 100 day trial with full refund. I don't think the new 2-layer design is as good as the older 3-layer one.

Cashrewards has $20 cashback "CFY100", but I don't know if it will stack.

  • Any difference between this and Lazy Bed? (which is cheaper)

    • +2

not too sure about the Lazy bed but the Koala mattress was recommended by choice magazine. For me the choice recommendation was what put me over the edge for the Koala over similar products. fwiw the Koala came second and scored 92% and the highest rated mattress scored 93% and cost $3000.

I only received mine yesterday but the first night was a good sleep

      • What was the highest rated mattress?

I've had both and they're very different. The koala is very comfortable but very soft so hurt my back. Had the Lazy Bed for a couple of months now and I'll be keeping it, much firmer and gives us a solid night's sleep.

      • Dexterdog, you posted here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/285293#comment-4321379 that you had a Greywing.

Have you swapped it for a lazybed now? What were your thoughts on the Greywing?

I got the koala and am sending it back this week (just reached the end of my trial). I've ordered a Sleepy Panda bed, will see how that goes. I found the koala was comfortable, but I'd often wake with soreness on lower back area. Better than my previous mattress, but not quite good enough for me to stop looking for a better one. I've read the Sleepy Panda is firmer, so I'll try that ones trial period.

I went for Lazybed due to cheaper price as you have pointed out.
I've got 2x lazybeds. 1x Single for the Kids and 1x Double for the guest bedroom.
It does the job. It just lies on the bed.

I'm 75kgs and I found it med-firm. I can sleep soundly on almost anything so I'm not a good judge to go by. It contours to my body.
My kids are 20kg. They sleep soundly. The only complaint is that it is not as springy when they bounce on it - the main reason I bought it due to spring mattress not lasting the distance.
My partner is 50kg and finds it too firm.

That being said the in-laws did not complain. But then they are nice overly polite people.

Although I have not slept on other fad foam beds, my opinion is that they differ little, other than their respective foam densities (check out wiki). You'll more than likely find it softer if you are heavy and firm if you are light.

Just utilise their x days guarantee.

    • I've been sleeping on the lazy bed for about a month, and will likely be returning it. It gets very hot, and I've actually started waking up with slight back pain since I started sleeping on it. I'm thinking of trying another brand of mattress in a box, just to see if there's any difference between them.

  • I grabbed the lazy bed at the last sale for $600. Im happy as well. It's comfy but firm enough to support your back. I recommend airing it out for a week to get rid of the rubbery smell then you're good to go.

For anyone thinking about buying this - if you like sleeping on a mattress of hellfire and brimstone, waking up in puddles of your own sweat, then buy away!

Is it just me, or does every mattress with the Euro- or pillow-top feel like sleeping on rolling hills and valleys even when the depression that develops after a couple of years or so is < 2cm (the minimum amount covered under warranty)?

But it's next to impossible to find a non-pillow top / flippable mattress for sale any more…

    • Yep I am also looking for a non-pillow top firm matress that is quality. I made the mistake of getting a firm mattress with pillow top. Was fantastic for 5 years and now the depression area is killing my back. If I sleep right in the middle where it isn't compressed, it is great. Now I don't know what to buy… keep being tempted by these deals but don't like the thought of sweat fest or worse back pain.

FYI. Lazybed showing "$350 OFF ANY DOUBLE, QUEEN OR KING USE COUPON: MAR350". Makes the King $700 compared to the Koala for $900. 5 minutes ago I was not even looking for a mattress… Thanks again OzBargain! :-)

The 0% interest free financing from Lazybed is, umm, interesting. "Buy Now, Pay Later. Up to 0 Months Interest free."

  • Also becareful with the return policy of Koala, free returns only for major metro areas of Sydney, Mel, Bris, Perth, maybe ade. All other areas are excluded. So if you don't like it you'll have to pay for return shipping.

I found this very misleading as it's not shown in their advertising, only in the fine prints.
