Sometimes a hand drawn image is more classy than a photo for greeting cards, and you won't get charcoal all over your hands either!
FotoSketcher is a free download, and runs under just about any flavour of Windows.
Note: ignore the expiry date there…just needed to pop something in. I'm pretty sure this freeware program will be up indefinitely.
