Well said!
agree with mikinoz, its not the first time a company has pulled a freebee deal. I suppose ozb suffers from its own popularity :/
Well. I am getting this email from Vital Greens:
PLEASE TAKE LINKS TO OUR WEB-SITE AND OUR FREE SAMPLE OFFER OFF YOUR SITE IMMEDIATELY. WE WILL TAKE FURTHER LEGAL ACTION IF THIS IS NOT DONE.
Not the first one threatening OzBargain with "legal action" today, so I am sort of okay when I received that email.
Anyway. I'll be banning VitalGreens.com from OzBargain and remove all their offers.
I wonder if they would threaten legal action if their 'offer' was posted on say YouTube or facebook.
I think businesses really need to know more about how the Internet works and think hard about executing their promotions before taking them online.
Vitalgreens.com should be thankful for the extra interest in their product generated by OzBargain instead of responding with retarded legal threats like this.
after reading this thread, i got some of said sample. Its a green powder and it doesn't explain what in heck to do with said green powder…it doesn't look edible. Not really very good marketing if you are trying to entice new customers. Just more info on how great it is.
Weird. I'm wondering if my plants will grow big if I put it on the soil.
Unauthorised links? I'm sorry, but that just sounds like you don't understand how the internet works. Links are part of the basic nature of the online world - there really is no such thing as an 'unauthorised link' (it's not voiding your copyright, etc). When you put something on your website, you're broadcasting it to a potentially huge audience. If you don't want that audience, require a special code for customers, sent in the newsletters. Or just say that due to over-demand, the free sample offer has been withdrawn.
(I don't speak for Ozbargain, I'm just a user.)
