Having a Milestone Birthday in a Few Months' Time. Suggestions?

Hi all,

I have been putting this off for a while. I am having a milestone birthday in a few months' time. Looking for suggestions for places to go, things to do. Duration wise, it can be a weekend to a maximum of a week's time. Also, wherever I go, I will have the kids(primary school age) with me, so it has to be family friendly.

What has other OzBargainers done for their milestone birthdays? Looking for suggestions please.

    If you had kilometrestone birthdays you would be able to celebrate them 1.6 times more often. :)

    But seriously, friends to me out to dinner. Maybe you can have a weekend jaunt with the family with the works.

    Thanks guys, I am also tossing between leaving the country(and come back… eventually) or visit another Australian city maybe.

        Take the family somewhere fun… Umm Tokyo Disneyland or something?

          Great idea. Have you been to the HK Disneyland? Just wondering what the difference is between the 2 Disneylands. I also thought of taking the kids to see real snow.

          @geek001:I've been to both. Pretty much the same deal. Also been to euro Disney. A tad different but same. Kids loved all 3. Went to Dizzee world yesterday. Interesting.

      Reminds of a recent Reddit thread where the 20 year olds all think 40 year olds are 60. Not much difference between 30 and 40 year olds. Might be better like this:

    I just went snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef for my 30th. Not as exciting as an overseas trip - but still a good memory I'll have!

    I did Vegas then a week skiing in the USA with 2 best mates at both 40 & 50. Just got back from the 50th, I will be having an obligatory restaurant party for the family and friends but the Vegas trip was the milestone!
