Good day all, up for sale is Makita laser distance measurer.

Laser distance measures offer a fast and convenient solution to distance measuring applications that would otherwise require multiple steps to achieve. • OMG - thats too much info to digest on a Tuesday afternoon :-(

  • I bought a similar measure here for $89
    http://cplonline.com.au/laser-distance-meter-60m-ar861.html

Can be a bit fiddly with different surfaces like fences etc. and I have had to take a few measurements to confirm distances so YMMV

I can imagine it would be similar technology to the Makita since it has similar specs

Sensors and error correction can vary greatly. If the chipset was the same, then more than likely it would be similar.

I thought some of these had Bluetooth to connect to phone/tablet to directly import for drawings.

  • Some have Bluetooth to download data …Also some have spirit level function do measure angles.

  • OP, how does yours compare to this for $79 (del)*apart from being 40m vs 50m

    • Well you are buying Makita for reliability and build quality, as they tend to get a fair bit of abuse out and about.

As per one of the previous comments

Seems extremely expensive, especially so for the home handyman, maybe the professional tradesman could justify this if the quality and accuracy is there.
I bought a click branded one from bunnings on clearance for $35 and it's fantastic.

OP: Could you comment on this deal vs the below linked item from BG for $57?
    http://www.banggood.com/UNI-T-UT392A-80M-Laser-Distance-Mete…

Are there known significant quality differences documented anywhere?

    • UNI-T make some good multimeters so that should be ok. I have a similar looking generic branded 50m laser measurer I bought on aliexpress which does me ok.

      • You tube videos show the Chinese models to be fine. I doubt Makita themselves designed their model and it could likely also be a rebadged model anyway.

    • These are dime a dozen in china, with Makita, you can count on it to be reliable. Does it even come with a warranty?

  • Any special for the Makita LD060P model?

    • Will have some new specials up soon mate.

      Cheers

  • Just looked up Android measuring apps. Ruler looks good with 4.6 rating so will try that one out.
