Hey all, we are planning a trip to South America in October
Our tour starts in Lima (Peru), as do all of the tours that go into the Amazon, Machu Pichu etc
What's the best and/or cheapest way to get here? I was thinking of going to fly into Santiago then maybe an 'internal' flight. But are there any better options I may have missed? Skyscanner says that Lima flights (via US I think) can be pretty pricey, so yes I have checked Skyscanner and Momondo using a straight forward search
Thanks
I go to South America often, I've gone plenty of times direct, however I find it's better just to fly to LAX $900-1200 sleep the night in a hotel then buy a seperate return ticket to South America $700 (Peru)
The first flight is pretty long no matter where you fly to, I find connecting thru pretty exhausting in one go, so I stop in LA hotel.
Although I speak Spanish I find landing in USA and checking into hotel easier and more comfortable than landing in buenos aires, that said if you want to see plenty of countries you could try a multi city flight and extend your stopover in your landing port Santiago or buenos aires.
