Good Samsung S6 Edge Cables- All Others Become Loose within a Week

Hey anybody know of any good Samsung S6 edge chargers. I have literally bought 10 different cables at varying prices and they all broke WITHIN THE LAST MONTH. They all become loose after like 2 days. And dont stay in properly and stop fast charging.

Also is there a chance there's a problem with the phones charging port or something causing it to break.

  • Probably due to the way you handle your phone while it is charging. If you are pulling and tugging on the cable, even slightly, you are reducing it's life span.

    • Let's be honest, that shouldn't destroy the cable.
I suspect OP has been using $1 built to die cables.

      • i bought 5x cheap ones
        2 genuine samsung ones
        1 target one
        1 big w
1 other that i cant remember but it was 12 bucks

        • The genuine samsung ones should last you at least a year. I charge my phone minimum once a day (generally twice) using my samsung charger. It is over 2 years old now. It is all about how you look after the charger. Do you pull it a lot. Also i have noticed the cheaper ones are slow and if it is inclosed the in the rubber like material, it is much much weaker as the pins that hold the charger in just sink in

        • @hmtk: yeah i have to start becoming extra careful with cables i actually spent around 85ish buck on just cables this month

  • Out of curiosity, which cables did you buy?
For me and my S7 I use a comsol from Office Works, but after just a few months of use it often doesn't work on one side (it's reversible and has 2 sides). But it was pretty reliable for a long time and stills works fairly well.
I did notice my phone's charger port must have came wobbly, because I was using the charger to the hold the phone up and now when I move it back and forth it shifts when originally it would stay with the cable. So I'm sure the charger port has some give to it.

    I thought I spend a lot but they're only $10.
I know the cheaper $1 cables can break easily, which is why I got a more costly one.

I remember a similar topic in the forums, someone said they just bought what they had at Kmart and it was decent quality and cheaper than my suggestion.

  • +1

That's a very high rate. I'm still using my cables from 5 years ago, though I'm talking about different phones. Problem must be on your end, something you're doing, the way you handle the phone and cable.

    • Wow the most I've had one for is 5 days.
I guess i should stop using in charge but i do feel like i handle it properly but i guess i should be more careful

      • It's also not just how you handle them when you charge and put/pull cable in/out, but also how you store them when you're not using them. If theyre on the floor you could be stepping on them, chair Rolling on them etc. I use bulldog clips to hold them against the table, also makes it easier to reach.

  • i find the blitzwolf ones pretty good.
But i do think its the way you're handling them - you've gone through a LOT of cables!

I'm through my second cable since getting the phone when it came out (daily charge)

  • I'm a fan of the blitzwolf cables which you can get from banggood just prepare for a wait.

Considering this is an S6 we are talking about and you seem to charge it a lot you may have also damaged the USB port in your phone and it is now only tightly connected to brand new cables which haven't been "broken in". My old OnePlus One had an issue where the port actually moved further into the phone and meant that most cables did not work properly.

Also a little pro tip when buying cables check the wire gauge and ensure it is appropriate. One way they make the cheap cables cheap is they don't use much copper
For Micro cables you want the following. If the cable doesn't have anything written on it and isn't a OEM cable then it may very well be 28 AWG and could essentially trickle charge your phone (~25% normal speed)
    1m - 24 AWG or lower number
    2m - 22 AWG or lower number
3m - 21 AWG or lower number - You still may not get very fast charging just because you are essentially losing energy in the cable.
This will make a huge difference in charging speed compared to a cheap crappy cable.
