I don't even have a switch - is your switch functioning OK, no glitches?

    • +9

Works fine and love it so far!

Mine's working great. Haven't had my dock scratch or mark my screen yet, but I'm considering getting a screen protector just in case.

    • Its fine, mostly fake news regarding its flaws, but i would buy a protector, i found a tiny scratch near the middle of the screen, wasnt dock related as it wasnt near the dock sides. Seems bloggers and journalists were trying to throw it in there, quite hard.

I will say the Wii U's screen in my opinion was far more durable, i do wish they went with one like that, but i get the new one has a better image.

    Already offloading them? :P

    • It was that price on day one.

      • Yep. Was a promo until the 14th or so going from memory. JoyCons are $99 too and a few other things a bit cheaper.

    • +4

Nah it's gotten public appeal. As long as they make 2018 full of new titles it will be okay.
What does that have to do with the deal though? Only people who already have a Switch will buy this.

        Not from what I've seen.

You must have been in the wrong side of the world. Switch is Nintendo best selling console at the moment.

        • @Letrico:

best selling console at the moment.

          How many have they sold?

ლ(ಠ益ಠლ) we are nintendo.. You cannot beat us

    • -1

      Agree. DOA.

    • I am not sure if Nintendo are as ruthless as Sony, when it comes to dropping shit.

      • This is why I've ignored the PSVR, just waiting on Sony to drop it.

Biggest selling launch of any Nintendo console ever in North America, Europe, Australia. Sounds like a flop.

      • Nintendo are like doomed SARCASM

Damn who knew they been around since the 70s and longer.

    $85…really Nintendont?-_-

    • Yeah dont worry about it for now. Not really necessary at all. Joy cons are great. Out of the box you get 2 controllers anyway, very adaptable. Issues mostly exaggerated by clickbait sites and youtubers looking for clicks. Nintendo has already provided solutions for it where necessary. Save the money for now. Dpad works extremely good on the Joy Cons (design is 8directional, very easy to use, even with fighters, platformers, which would explain why they're flexible like a regular dpad). Nobody will play 20 hours straight so they can recharge in the meantime.

I tried the Pro controller, its dpad is stuff. So recommended to steer clear for now. No need to buy it out of insecurity or because it has a Nintendo logo.

      • I find the joycons tolerable, however I have large hands and seem to have started getting odd pains in my hand after a few days of using them. Might have to get the pro controller for comfortable play.

        • I think the pain in the hands comes from people working in different fields, health conditions. Pro still feels more bulky then joy con grip and loose jcs. Can get cramps using any controller.
Loose jcs / grip seem to be the most ideal setup, comfortable the way Wii remotes were but even more. The thumb stick on jc seems to work well with multiple games, dpad on Pro doesnt replicate the feel of the JC one, Pro still has digital triggers, outside of dpad, not much. Cant take the pro apart for multiplayer/ flexibility which is disappointing. Dpad on Pro a little disappointing. Nintendo are most likely going to have jcs with better dpads eventually.

I wish Sega still made consoles. I will admit that the super-nes had a better sound chip.

  • Anyone know if this is backwards compatible to Wii U?

    • Why? Wii U Pro controllers are much cheaper

      • +1

They are not forwards compatible with the switch though. So if you bought zelda on WiiU and want a controller now it sucks to by a Wii U pro.

        • Exactly what I'm thinking.

    • I doubt it. Why do that when you can re-make it and sell it again.

    • You may want to hold off buying more controllers, they sorta, kinda entertained the idea they might allow other controllers to be used from past systems at a later date.. Or just get 2 more joy cons later, 2 are enough for now with the system. No need to rush.

    • is it possible to pick up ewish gift cards now?
      couldnt see how it works.

    • +3

Wow! Sony and their overpriced accessories

Wow! EB and their overpriced items!

  • +3

It works on PC/Mac too, apparently.

  • i have over 60 consoles

im waiting for a second gen switch to be released

    • Do you have the aes?

      • +1

        AES
        CD
        CDZ

        :D

        i still want a consolized mvs :/

    • Smart thinking. However, Nintendo might do similar to the 3DS and release a new revision every 18-24 months - what to do then?

I will wait until there are (for me) enough games worth playing.

      • Spot on.

Im Playing Zelda on Wii u an when people do a side by side, the Switch version is like 7% better graphics and thats it LOL

    • Probably be more a successor to the 3DS, maybe a Switch without the dock.

Would rather they dont milk the multiple iterations the way they have with 3ds/new 3ds, 3dsXl. Incremental upgrades a bit pointless.. Kind of rubs people up the wrong way similar to Xbox S, Scorpio, Psvr, Pspro.

Nintendo has never been about graphical specs for the sake of visuals… They're gameplay first.

Its possible, but it might not be what you think… They might just be incremental or an expansion pak for the dock. Lol.

  • Pro Controller very unncessary at the moment. Recommend holding off Joy cons are great. Out of the box you get 2 controllers anyway. Issues mostly exaggerated by clickbait sites and youtubers looking for clicks. Tennendo has already provided solutions anyways. Save the money for now. Dpad works fine on Joy Cons (apparently the design is 8directional, which would explain why they're flexible like a regular dpad). You wont play for 20 hours straight so when its docked it will recharge anyway.

Also the Pro Controller dpad is stiff. So recommended to steer clear for now. No need to buy it just because of insecurity or because it has a Nintendo logo.
