Samsung Series 8 65 inch KS8500 Curved 4K SUHD TV

Key Features

SUHD
The pinnacle of Samsung TV technology, providing the best experience currently possible in every aspect of Samsung’s TV. Samsung has developed its SUHD TV’s to offer superior picture quality day AND night, coupled with a beautiful design to create a premium, yet elegant solution to your home entertainment needs.

Quantum Dot Technology
A technology Samsung has used in it’s SUHD TV’s since their launch in 2015. This year in 2016 Samsung has further refined this technology to help delivers an excellent picture on it’s SUHD TV’s. This is achieved by utilising a new type of Blue LED, then placing a layer of red and green Quantum Dots over the top. This allows SUHD TV’s to have pure and bright whites, which allows them to produce over 1 Billion colours (10-bit Colour). This means SUHD has the most true-to-life image currently available on any Samsung TV.

10-bit Colour
An industry standard when it comes to producing a certain amount of colours on your TV. This standard helps to differentiate certain Premium TV’s from others whilst helping you to recognise what set offers the best experience. 10-bit Colour provides over 1 Billion colours. Compared to Samsung's conventional TV’s, this is 64 times more colour, which gives a more true-to-life and immersive image than ever before.
*Samsung 2016 SUHD TVs with Quantum Dot Display produce 64 times the number of colours produced by Samsung 2016 UHD TV models. Performance may vary depending on source content.

HDR (High Dynamic Range)
Incredible cinema quality at home delivering dynamic Ultra HD content in exceptional quality. Experience sharp contrasts and brightness with deeper blacks and brighter whites.

Ultra Black Panel
A brand new technology developed by Samsung to help reduce glare and reflection. One of the biggest drawbacks when watching TV is that when you have lots of light coming into your room (whether it be natural light or indoor lighting) this light shines onto the screen and washes out parts of the image. Samsung’s Ultra Black technology utilises tiny Nano-scale cones to absorb the light, meaning you can see the picture in any home environment the way it was intended.

One Remote
A new way of interacting with your Smart TV. The One Remote shows years of refinement in what consumers want to be able to do with a remote – To access what you want quickly, with ease. With a mere few clicks on the One Remote you can be anywhere and doing anything on your Samsung Smart TV, without having to worry about scanning a cluster of buttons on your remote. What also differentiates the One
Remote from others is that it is a universal remote, meaning you can control multiple compatible devices inside AND outside your Samsung ecosystem.

360° Design
Looks beautiful from every angle and brings both elegance and practicality, including a brushed back while removing all the screws to give a seamless experience no matter where the TV is placed in the room.

UHD Alliance
A consortium of companies including TV Manufacturers and Movie Studios who have come together to develop a universal standard for Ultra HD TV’s, of which Samsung was a founding member. The industry standard agreed upon is known as ‘Ultra HD Premium Certification’, and TV’s have to meet stringent picture quality standards to receive this certification. All of Samsung’s 2016 SUHD line-up have received this certification, showing Samsung’s commitment to not only meet industry standards, but exceed these standards delivering outstanding picture quality.

  • Been waiting 3+ months for the UA65KS8000 ordered from TheSlowGuys, this is just $300 more and JB>GG any day.

    • Do you have a link for the UA65KS8000? I couldn't find anything on the good guys website.

Edit: Just rang goodguys, the 65KS8000 is $3695 now. It was reduced to $2500 on the boxing day and is more available at that price.

      • Yeah grabbed it for 2488 from Harveys on boxing day, couldn't be happier. Great TV.

      • They have since removed it from their site after Boxing day sales @ $2500.

However it is available at Harvey Norman at multiple locations now, but not at the discounted price.

Should have ordered from HN, even though overall it cost more due to HN's delivery fee being more expensive - worth it to pay the $10 extra and receive the TV 3 months earlier…

  • whats the cheapest it's been?

    • This is the cheapest I have seen in the recent times. The lowest I could find was $2996 from JB Hi-Fi in December last year.

    Average TV. Very overpriced.

    • What would you recommend? maybe a little closer to 2k?

    • I have been looking around for a 65" UHD TV with HDR 10 bit and thought this is the best around under $3k range. Your comment made me think if there is something else in the market I have overlooked. Are you comparing against any other TV which has better specs in this price range?

      • -1

OP do you know how old is this technology?

        It good price tho

        • -1

Compare to OLED, this is no where near. But again it is the price point that limits some people to go the OLED route. I am still looking for suggestions from the lurkers of this post if they have a better recommendation at this price?

On a side note, looking at the hype here, I bought the Hisense 70" 7000 the other day, returned it the next day. IMWO they don't compare to these Samsung TVs.

        • @gopi_kv2004: Reviews have been pretty consistent in saying that the Samsung 8000 series is the best you can get before you get into OLED territory. Panel quality is basically the same as their 9000 series. I have the non-curved one so I cant talk for the curved model if theres even any difference.

Just because it's higher priced means nothing. The Samsung Tvs are average in my opinion. I wouldn't spend this money on an LCD.
        Each to there own.

  • Have been through 2 of the 65" suhd. Both were curved and flat. After two replacements due to light bleeding on the top and bottom i gave up and went Hisense 70". Best decision made on the tv to date.

  • There are a lot of Hisense advocates on here these days, my initial reservations were that they were a cheap Chinese brand. Is this not the case? I am worried that the software will not be as mature as the Samsung and the longevity of the TV may not be as good….

Are more ppl buying them these days just because they are Mercedes f1 main sponsor or are they actually good TV's… or are they just good value for money at that price point.. but inferior to the more expensive options….

    • Roy look up reviews. Hisense offer a three year warranty. Having owned Samsung Tvs I know all have had issues. Read up some online forums like whirlpool and make a decision based on your eyes. Spending more does not mean you will have a better picture. The off axis viewing angle is really poor on the Samsung.

      • Thanks Rog, will definitely go check them out in store and have a look.

    • +1

Samsung TV has a new feature according to the wikileaks.
Just dont put it too close to your bed…
