Okay, so this post is going to sound petty but my local coles is changing the price of iceberg lettuce for the past three days. It went from $3.90 to $2 to the current $2.90. Yes, I go to coles everyday after work!!!! Anyway not sure what the deal is with that. Maybe someone here knows why this is the case

Price vs size at coles has been rediculous of late.
Same a Woolies, $2.90 for a scrap of a thing. I'm wondering if it's because of the extreme heat we had a few weeks back. I know they're hydro, but guessing the growing sheds couldn't handle the heat?
Is there a fruit shop or aldi nearby? Supermarkets will change prices often to compete or price beat these.
They charge what people will pay so if there is local competition they will beat the price, but if there isn't then $4 it is. I mean, who is going to go elsewhere looking for one lettuce.
Lettuce hope these crazy prices on lettuces stop. Let us remember also that you can also buy loose mix as I often find I only need a handful of lettuce mix and not a whole lettuce.

Lol.. I was waiting for this question. Its next to the train station. Loose mix is shit compared to the real deal, although it may be convenient for some. No aldi but now you mention it there is a fruit shop, I've never been inside though coz its in a inconvenient location
Don't feel too bad, I was desperate to try Ocho Tequila, I saw it on Dan Murphy's website last month for $70. I set a goal for myself and if I did it I would buy it, I did achieve my goal and went to order, unfortunately it is now $110 :/

Colesworth are jacking up prices across the board except junk food.
Nutritionally, iceberg lettuce is on the bottom rung of the health ladder. Has next to nothing to contribute beside water. The bagged bags of greens is a much better option and probably does work out to be cheaper.
