Couldn't you have just stickied this if you didn't post it first, mod?

      • +1

        Wut?

      • Spackbace isn't a Mod

    • Doesn't have to be a 'discount' to be a bargain.

    • Your right

      BUT

Theres an expcetion with Nes mini because they are so popular and Ozbaragain is the best place to get notified of new stock

    • inb4thenegs

      • Post is over a month old… The f**k?

    • bet you didn't think it'd go that way

      • +3

Always goes that way these deals are for the ozsheep

  • +42

    +1 for the image lol

  • +1

Compared to the prices on eBay and Gumtree, it is a bargin.

    • Wait a month .

      • +1

You can wait a year, and the price is still there. This is NES MiNi

        • +1

I'm pretty sure in a year the price will come down, once all the clowns have bought this and everyone is stuck with stuck that doesn't sell. Prices will drop ad there is no demand.

That's when I will purchase it, hopefully for around half the price of rrp now ;)

        • +2

once mini snes out then this will not be a bargain anymore

        • +2

          @bti_jet:
Or after people play a few games and lose interest in it fast when they realise the coolness is not that good.

        • +1

          @PVA:

Its still a very cool console to have but @ $99 I think I'll pass.

Maybe I don't care as much as I still have the original at my grandparents place

        • A.k.a. overrated nostalgia machine.

        • @bti_jet:
Word is they've run out of some components so manufacturing has ceased for this model.

        • Said every Enron investor

        • @bti_jet: You might not have noticed but Nintendo isn't going to let that happen for a long time by not making enough.

        • @jdeezy: No, they just don't make enough to keep the price high. There isn't rare Nintendo only hardware inside these things.

        • @xcess: The NES Mini can play SNES games right now.

    • +1

how did you manage to spell bargain wrong its part of the name of the website XD

      • Must off added the coupon to remove the a

    • It will be bargain, if you get to sell it on Gumtree for profit, else it be land fill in month time :)

  • thanks

  • +1

    +1 for the bingo card

    • As usual you can't neg for any of the things listed on the card but because you're a fan of OzBingo upvote away.

  • +1

Hurry before the sheep all take it!

  • +7

Upvoted for the bingo card alone. Nice one OP

  • +1

Says Exclusive online only price? didn't realise it differed anywhere else for RRP? Brought mine a few weeks back and price was the same without their little tag…

  • +2

    Solid Summary.

  • Get ready for people complaining about whether or not this 'deal' should be posted here…

  • +7

If EB would price it at $99.94 we could avoid all these OzRRP posts

  • +1

Thanks heaps OP, finally got one and another controller after months of trying…

  • -5

    Bought 20 thanks

    • i call BS as they are now clamping down on orders

      • +1

        Would you believe 15?

        • -3

nope as my friend just ordered 10 and got all but one cancelled

        • +6

@lowndes8: would you believe a PS2 and a table tennis bat?

    • +5

      BINGO!

    • +1

I can tick that off my bingo card

  • +1

I'm waiting for MATTDAMON and lowndes8 to let us know how many they've bought.

    • none as the market has crashed and its no longer worth my time

      • What a shame… :'(

        • -3

it is but i made some good money so im happy

  • +1

Now that it is in constant supply I really am not interested… not worth spending 99 for 10 minutes of fun

    • +7

13 minutes later since my 1st post it's sold out and I regret not buying one

    • +6

yeah you can get 30 or 45 min of fun at other places for that price

    • They won't come out again. Nintendo didn't make a lot of them. Seems Australia got pretty lucky. Won't see many of these down the track

  • +18

This isn't a deal, it's just a restock and its RRP. You could have bought a Raspberry Pi, or even better just emulate the games for free!

Why do people upvote deals on the NES Class Mini when the demand has dropped since Christmas?

I think this really belongs in the forum instead.

    • +11

      BINGO. We have a winner….

    • +1

Without commenting on this deals value in particular.. I do really suggest people try out an rPi3 to do this, it's cheaper (Even the DIY rPi Gamebox Bundles are cheaper) and along the way, you'll learn alot.. Gain skills you may be able to apply to a million other areas, much more customization and choice (Not stuck to NES games by a longshot) and.. if you get sick of it doing game emulation, you can change it into a pretty powerful pfSense home opensource firewall, a CCTV controller, a home media centre.. or even an awesome backup node if you connect it to a HDD (or just a 64/128GB microSD).

Not for everyone but definitely something to think about before you buy this. I understand completely that there will always of course be people and demand for something that just works, needs no user interaction to work and does what it says on the box.

      • It's why people buy con sole instead of PC for gaming …..PC games are cheaper but console is more convenient.

        • yea all that learning sounds great until you spend a little more time with people who arent good with computers and you realise that most people around us probably wouldnt know how to turn it on if it didnt come with a microusb in the box

        • @crentist: I do my best to keep faith in the intelligence of the human race
          ..despite what I encounter daily.

    • +1

Why do people upvote deals on the NES Class Mini when the demand has dropped since Christmas?

And yet this one sold out within an hour.

    • Or if you have a modified console run retroarch/emulators ;)

    • House!

    • -1

      because

      1) this is licensed legal software from Nintendo
      2) piracy is always cheaper, commenting on a sale of a console or pc game isnt filled with idiots saying "JUST PIRATE IT, ITS SO MUCH CHEAPER"

      • .. Gaben has been lying to me again

      • +1

amusing downvotes for speaking the truth. every single person saying 'just get a raspberry pi' is saying 'just illegaly obtain and play your games, its cheaper'

        • Nah, they're implying that you dump your own roms from your own cartridges, and either use HLE emulatores with a simulated bios, or dump your own BIOS images from your consoles.

Easier just to buy the NES mini like I did :)

        • +1

@idonotknowwhy: dumping your own roms is not legal despite what you think. the cartridge acts as a TPM, when you use a tool to break that TPM, not legal

There are some exceptions in the Australian Copyright Act for computer programs and for 'non-infringing back-ups', also known as 'format shifting', but that doesn't apply to all ROMs copied from old game cartridges or discs unless you obtain permission from the copyright holder.

"This exception doesn't apply if the data in the ROM cartridge 'decompiled' to create the back-up, or if the owner has so designed the program that copies of it cannot be made without modification. "Arguably, if the original might one day be a collectible, there is some merit to an argument that the ROM image is made so that the original can be stored away. But this is probably the exception rather than the rule. It would be harder to argue in our hypothetical that the ROM image was really made for the purpose of a back-up and not just so it can be played on a different device."

        • @sumoyoshi: How backwards. This country never ceases to disappoint me.

        • @sumoyoshi: While you make a very valid point and at the same time, almost argue against yourself here under some definitions, I just wanted to let you know that when trying to make a point with third party resources, don't use lifehacker.. it won't help heh.

        • @dfaktz: I used the lifehacker link because they specifically interviewed a copyright lawyer in Australia, if you bothered to read the article

          HEH

        • @sumoyoshi: Titled: 10 things you won't believe about copyright lawyers!

Out of stock… but that's OK. I'd rather buy from Target or whoever else and get Free Shipping. Now that's a bargain :)

    • I got the controller from Target and shipping was $9.

      • Yes, that's correct. Free Shipping kicks in at purchases over $80.

        • They should be paying US for shipping since we bless them with our Enloops and dollars. /s

  • +1

    sold out

  • +1

    aaaand… it's gone.

  • Your mum has better comments than these!

  • I almost bought $200+ nes mini on ebay! More preloaded games is pretty tempting though…

    • +2

It only takes about 20-30 minutes to load up all the extra games yourself so it's definitely not worth paying twice as much just for that! Be patient and keep your eyes peeled as I'm sure they will be back again soon for $99 either from EB, JB, Big-W or Target.

      • Ah yes I know it can be loaded with games, just afraid I might brick it. I got one from EB few hours ago. Lucky I guess :)

        • U won't brick it, just follow a YouTube tut.

Pretty simple I'm sure my mum would be able to do it

        • @bti_jet: You interested in trading your mum?

        • @dfaktz:

Yeah, all you have to do is bite the gutter :)

    • +1

It took me half an hour to get all the Roms from nes, and can play Snes, either GBA. Very easy to do.

      • Wow, didn't know it can be loaded with SNES games!

  • +2

    https://ebgames.com.au/wiiu-217650-NES-Classic-Mini-Controll…

Controller is still available if anyone needs an extra one.

  • Nice graphic lol.
Still doesn't make me think all of the above ;)
Yes I'm still surprised the fad is still going - well, that will be determined to see how quickly this gets sold out, not including broden

  • BONZA, finally got a 2nd mini-controller.
    Much thanks.

  • +1

For those wondering, the console sold out in 1 hour (from time of posting the deal).

    • Balls

      • +6

        yo

    • Wow just wow

  • Why are there so many upvotes?!
    (For those playing at home)

    Thanks OP

  • Do you expect that they will release most of these games on the Nintendo switch?
