So there is a new ad on TV about the 8 safety point check.
It says innovation is our legacy, and quality is our priority. Safety maybe part of quality.
What do you think about it? Do you believe them?

Wow, that is quite comprehensive
Good attempt at recovery. Its better than hoping people forget
Any idea how to buy their stock?
Where does it say it was an ad for the Note 7? Your title suggests that they are bringing Note 7 back which is most certainly not the case. Yes they mention it but only as a reason for their new 8 point battery check.
Soooo Samsung has decided to do quality control for its lithium ion batteries? :p
In all seriousness there should of already been an 8 point quality control check for phones that cost over 1K.
Why only 8, not 10 or 100?
Remember the iPhone antenna, or bend? Surely that happens even after 8 point test
Look at how many batteries Samsung actually make. NOt just for phones. They had a good system going. It was more a design fault as opposed to a failure of QC.
Take my hat off for aamsung stepping up and doing a full recall.
Takes guts to make that call and scar a company like it has but im sure samsumg will learn and hopefully never forget.
its not a note 7 ad btw
Meh, I'd still buy a Samsung in the future, I love the Note line. Apart from the shitty non expandable 32gb memory I love my Note 5, its an amazing phone.
Samsung lost billions of dollars in recalling the Note 7, and in shares dropping. They won't make that mistake again.
Been buying Samsung products for 20 years. I won't stop, because <100 batteries exploded or overheated out of 3 million phones.
Actually, if they didn't recall the note7, all those note7 will explode eventually.
Did u know their return packaging like? It's tougher than iron man suit.
It wasn't 100 random coincidental batteries, but it is a flaw in design that affect all note7
I thought that design flaw affected only a small batch of batteries.

You are right, it's only about 1000 phones, with 112 did reported explode.
It is caused by a design flaw, so before they inspect the phone, they don't have an idea which phone is defective.
I think the washing machine was more troublesome and dangerous than the phone.
I feel like they would have more extensive research and testing on all their products now, and that their products will end up being on the better end to avoid another massive failure.
The add seems to explode with concern…
I think they're bang on with their new safety procedure.
better one:
Seems legit.
Samsung said that it has implemented a new eight-step testing process for its lithium ion batteries, and that it’s forming a battery advisory board as well, comprised of academics from Cambridge, Berkeley, and Stanford. Note, this is for all lithium ion batteries in Samsung products, not just Note phablets or the anticipated Galaxy S8 phone.
