Hey guys,
I just bought a used PS4 1TB Ultimate Player Edition for $350 with four games - FIFA 17, Skyrim Special Edition, Watchdogs 2 & Fallout 4. The console is in pristine condition and the guy also included a sony controller charger. I was just wondering whether this was a good deal or not?
Thank you.
Depends… are those games worthwhile to you?
That makes the most difference.
The "Ultimate" edition is just the old v1.0 PS4 that SONY tried to get rid of from their storage facility, so they upped the HDD from the standard 500GB to a 1TB.
The v2.0 PS4 is actually a decent upgrade in terms power consumption and fan noise, and has actual buttons instead of the touchbar.
You can easily upgrade any PS4's 500GB HDD to a 2TB HDD, and do it quite cheap too.
I did this back in 2015 as soon as I unboxed it, set me back $109 from Officeworks (Seagate brand, they had a special from the usual $159 price).
The SONY controller charger isn't really worth anything.
However, it should be noted that this is probably a better purchase than getting an Xbox One or a Nintendo Switch, or an older PS3 console.
Simply…. because Games.
But if you want best value gaming then you have to go with PC Gaming.
And if you want simply the best gaming experience you'll have to go instead with PC Gaming.
