Motorola is a subsidiary of Lenovo
Ah yes, now you mention it I totally forgot. Thanks. Still makes me wonder why they used both company names.
Lenovo/Motorola was saying they were going to slowly phase out Motorola and focus on the brand "Moto by Lenovo" January last year.
Then they changed their mind (and with different people leading) and started using Motorola branding with Moto Z, this year.
I think they were saying that Motorola has more power than Lenovo in smarthone market. I am guessing they thought Moto brand alone wasn't strong enough.

PSA: No 3.5mm jack.
3.5mm to USB-C headphone adapter is included.
Why do phone makers do this? The 3.5mm jack is not dead. We all don't go around with Bluetooth headphones.
Speaking of… anyone here can tell me for sure if Bluetooth headphones are safe for long-term use? Will I fry my brains?
Why do phone makers do this?
They're just trying to be "courageous".
Good phone but no 3.5mm jack and battery life isn't very good either
I'm confused on who the actual manufacturer is…
