Anyone Else Had Problems with Team Spreets?

I had been signed up to get the Team Spreets e-mails for a month or so and had not yet been tempted.

On Friday they had a great deal for a massage, manicure and hair cut and colour and I thought GREAT!

I clicked to purchase it - the deal was on.

And then over the weekend I got an e-mail with my voucher code - not for the deal I had purchased!

I contacted them today and was told that I would get my money refunded but that they could not exchange the deal.

I am pretty disappointed and wary of using them again. Has anyone else had similar experiences or was I a one-off?

Still to wait and see how fast my refund is processed.

  • Only ever used them once, only for a meal deal - but it was painless.

  • I used Spreets for a hairdressing deal, they were very fast to charge my card, and after 6 weeks I still have not received my voucher, they said they would re-send, nothing, they said to give them another email, (even though they can send me emails), still nothing, I asked for a refund, nothing!!! Steer well clear I say.
They also had a public forum, there were plenty of complaints on that, now it's not public anymore, surprise surprise..

    • haha yes I noticed after one particular Melbourne deal for a hairdresser which had been previously featured, there were ALOT of negative comments about people's experiences there…they got rid of that pretty fast!

  • ive been trying to get a refund for nearly 2 months, they are finally now processing it,

the restaurant refused the voucher and i reported it and asked for a refund, 3 weeks later i get a response just saying sorry and they closed my ticket. um sorry doesnt help me, i cant use my voucher?

they said they will do a refund, then forgot about it again for a few weeks. so i email them and say where is my refund

they say we cant do a refund, please provide your bank details and we will put it into your account.

now thats alot of stuffing around and very poor communication. still waiting on refund

i lost money in this deal as i had to pay for the taxi to get to the place

    • I was in the same boat as you when dealing with spreets, in the end, I just initiated a dispute through my bank's VISA system.

  • i have referral issues, not being credited, and some people have told me they cant use their credits. my gf didnt get a voucher for a few days, had to contact them. so yea, prolly not the best group buy.

  • Same problem here.Still waiting the $10 for referring my sister.I am sick of Spreets.

    • I am sick of them too, keep getting an automated email

      • Same here. Took me several months and repeated posts on their forum before my issue was dealt with.

  • Have bought a few deals through them but no problems yet… well, the only problem is that I'm subscribed to get their daily emails but don't get them … but that's ok cause I check allthedeals.com.au everyday.

    • sorry, but no caps please on the site.

  • I bought a voucher from Spreets Perth for Bodz Subiaco $99 for $300 worth of treatments. The offer read that you could get 3 x facial peel AND 4 x IPL for chin and lip hair removal. I only wanted the chin and lip IPL only (plus my jawline). So I went in for my first treatment which I was not charged for, but on my second treatment I was charged $200 and told I would be charged for any future treatments!!!! I felt totally duped. I wrote a comment on Spreets Facebook page and had it deleted, they then directed me to the support forum. I wrote my complaint on there and again they removed it and failed to respond in anyway. So I have written another complaint on the support forum with the subject line :STOP DELETING MY COMPLAINTS AND RESPOND. They have yet to delete this but they have yet to respond. I have also contacted Bodz Subiaco via their web page and direct email and have not heard from them either.
I would not deal with Spreets or Bodz Subiaco again.

  • Given when my first comment was deleted from Spreets Perth Facebook page I was told I could repost my complaint if the support forum did not deal with it, I reposted today only to have it quickly removed and myself removed so I can no longer post.
I have started a Facebook Spreets complaint page for others who have similar concerns, please feel free to join and share your complaints

  • From the other side of the spreets issue I spoke with a business owner who ran both a spreets and a scoopon deal back in November and he said the paperwork for spreets takes at least twice as long as Scoopon. Main issue being spreets coupons spread over several pages, sometimes one page with two coupon numbers on it, while scoopons are 1 page/voucher.

From my side I have bouth 5-6 spreets and only once had an issue, no voucher, however it took over a week for their 'support' to respond and issue them.

    • Hi Pobman,

Sorry to hear that you had an issue with one of our vouchers. If you experience this again you can log in to your account to reprint the vouchers. These definitely only span one page per voucher.

      We hope this helps.

      Regards,
      Spreets Team

  • Spreets has said they will refund my money, thank goodness. I still think they were dodge in responding and deleting my comments, but I am pleased to be refunded

  • I am also having problems with Spreets. The coupon I bought with a company Simply Radiant in Perth does not appear to exist. I have not had any personal reply from Spreets. Have they followed through with their promises to refund?

    • Hi Kdarl,

We looked in to the support request from you and see that your request was resolved.

Sorry for the wait. As we received your request on Friday 14th we could not turn around your request until the Monday. We did have a 1-2 day turn around at that point which we highlighted in our auto response.

Our response time has now been reduced as we have expanded the support team so hopefully the team will now get back to you a little more promptly.

      Regards,

      Spreets Team

        I would like to complain.

I bought 3 vouchers back in Nov last year for BLISS OUT! $59 for 1 Hour Massage of Choice, 1 Hour Facial PLUS Deluxe Mani & Pedi… Worth $279! GREAT GIFT IDEA. Massages: Aromatherapy/Reflexology/Lomi lomi/Deep Tissue/Pregnancy WOW!

I bought these for two of my friends birthdays (one being a special birthday) and one for my birthday, in the thinking that we could all go up to the city together have lunch and be pampered, both of my friends have also just had babies. I gave them to them in March and April, we found a suitable time to go and I made the call to book …… thats where is went wrong the number was disconnected. I managed to contact the shop below Body bliss and they told me that they left last year. How can that be when I bought the vouchers in November???

I have tried to contact Spreets to no avail as there isnt a telephone number. I am very annoyed and feel really bad for my friends and a little stupid. Please can anyone help me in getting a refund.

        Justine

      • Spreets team, I'm not quite sure why it takes you so long to respond to emails. I sent an email over 10 days ago and only just got a response today. I asked for a voucher refund as the salon has been behaving very unprofessionally, and I was given the run around and told Spreets has no control over how the business operates.

If this is the sort of answer we customers are given when we come to you for help, we are not likely to make further purchases from Spreets.

  • My experience with Spreets has been very painful, I contacted them a week ago with at least 3 emails plus their forums and no one has replied.

I purchased a Dolphin Cruise from Spreets a couple of weeks ago and used it last week - it was great and didn't have a single problem!

    • Ohh nice! Then I better plan the Dolphin Cruise soon too… in case they 'magically all booked for 6 months' xD
Great to hear positive reviews here!

  • I've purchases Spreets vouchers and when I try to access, my email comes up as not registered, so I can't access my vouchers. I've sent numerous emails to Spreets and had no help so far - all they ask me to do is log in. So how can I that help me when I clearly am not recognised by their system (which by the way has no problems sending me their daily deals). I've found their telephone number so I could try and talk to a human being about this problem but conveniently, their voice mail refers you back to lodging problems via their web-site. They have my money but I have no access to the vouchers which I needed to use last week. VERY UNHAPPY SPREETS.

    • That happened to me too! My account has mysteriously disappeared!! Thank god I still have all print out.

  • I have been trying to contact spreets for two months now in regards to a refund for two day spa vouchers i purchased. The vouchers were $90 each, when i rang up to book i was told that they were booked out 6months in advanced and could no longer take any more bookings.

The day spa told me to contact spreets in regards to getting a refund but every time i do my request is ignored, i have been contacting them for 2 months and still no resolution- my request just keep being deleted from their system so i can check up on the progress. I am really annoyed with the spreets service as i feel they are ignoring me simply because it is in regards to a refund. This is not the first issue i have had with spreets. I also purchase a voucher for myself and a friend and requested hers to be sent to her, i received my voucher but my friend is yet to receive hers. They simply email me asking for all the details of the purchase and every time i reply with the details someone else again emails me asking for te same details i have already sent through 3 times. My friend is still yet to receive their voucher even through my credit card has been charged for it

I would highly reccomened avoiding spreets at all cost… yes they work when they get it right but when they stuff it up you cannot get in contact with them to fix it.

DO NOT BUY FROM SPREETS, THEY OFFER A POOR SERVICE AND TAKE YOUR MONEY BUT DO NOT GET BACK TO YOU>>>PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW

  • Spreets are giving me run around too. Bought a Cumberland Golf voucher - no voucher (they charged straight away) and when I contacted them with all the information (deal name, date etc) I got a run around asking me for the same information.

    • LOL
Just had a similar story: emailed them vouchers and they responded by asking for the vouchers. :) Ironically the vouchers were even still included/attached in the reply email they've sent back to me! lol
At this point I just think it's funny… let's see what happens next.

  • Ha, soon as I put this, I get a e-mail with the vouchers.

  • I've bought numerous deals from Spreets, Scoopon, Our Deal and Cudo, and I think my worst experience to date has been with Spreets. While most of the deals had no issues, I've been having a lot of drama with a particular hairdressing deal I bought (I wonder if it was the one 'me' referenced above).

The salon doesn't answer their phones, they cancelled my first appointment on the day because the therapist called in sick (after I booked it in 4 months in advance because they had 'no availability') and then the second appointment was made for 3 weeks later; I show up, and the shop was CLOSED. Very ticked off as it was pouring with rain and traffic was a nightmare. No phone call returned although I left messages and sent numerous emails to the salon.

I contacted Spreets asking for a refund and I have not had a response. Very disappointed with this, the status on the forum says 'being processed'. If I don't hear back from them within a couple of days (it has been about 10 days), I am going to give up my membership and also tell all my friends that I referred about my experience and discourage them from purchasing further deals.

Not worth it if the company cannot look after their customers very well.

  • SPREETS VOUCHER ISSUES

I'VE BOUGHT 3 DEALS FOR MEALS AND I HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY VOUCHER'S
I have tried contacting spreets but i have not heard back from them, the confirmation of payment is there but no voucher also when i go to the spreet site my account its empty..

I have used other companies with out problems.

  • I made an appointment at King Edward Salon in Richmond a few weeks ago and confirmed what I was to have done at the time. I called back today to confirm my appointment for next week only to be told that they will not be honouring what I purchased. At the time of purchase (as shown on the spreets website) the deal was for a full head of foils OR a full colour OR a half head of foils and a full colour. When the voucher came through after purchase it only said Full head of foils OR Full colour. When I made the appointment I told them that I wanted the colour and foils but I have been told today they will not do that. Now I don't know what to do as my sister and I are going to Cairns for her 30th birthday and the plan was to have our hair done before we go. Now if I ask for a refund it will probably take weeks and we are going to have to pay full price elsewhere. I am so p….d off with the salon, but not really surprised after everything I have read on here. Oh and just incase you missed it the salon is KING EDWARD SALON, Church Street, Richmond.

    • This is a bit worrying for me as I also purchased a voucher for this salon. I just looked up the website http://spreets.com.au/deal/Melbourne/day-spa-and-beauty/809/… Which clearly states a full head of colour + foils is an option (which is also not stated on the voucher)!

This is not going to be fun…Spreets are HORRIBLE and have an ebay-like auto response.

Thanks for the alert - and sorry to hear that you missed out on your appointment! If you need your hair done quickly and cheaply, maybe try a training salon (if you're game!)

      • I had an issue with Skin Estetica in Claremont WA and Spreets responded quickly. They refunded the two vouchers I had remaining.

        • It's funny, you know, because I had a problem late last year with Spreets and they were excellent. Back then they provided a phone number (which now no longer works).
They also had support forums on their website back then.

My mother had problems recently in that she was unable to access the vouchers. For several months she has been trying to contact Spreets and only gets auto responses which pay no attention to what she is saying, ebay style. She is now going through the CC chargeback process as she is not only unable to access her vouchers, but also unable to effectively communicate with the company.

Maybe things have changed or maybe some people are just lucky/unlucky.

      • Someone has just posted on their website that the salon is closed down. Not sure if this is correct or not. I checked my bank statement and there was a refund, as far as I knew I was getting a credit voucher, but hey I'll take it. Oh and here is the best part, they have blocked my from posting on their FB wall. I am not surprised as every negative comment is promptly removed. I hate these people, I am glad the salon is broke and I hope Spreets are not far behind.

        • -1

Are these the same pricks who screwed you out of foils? If so, no wonder they went bust ad I would dance on their corporate grave f I could. Good riddance. RIH.

        • -1

Dont worry, after all small businesses have no choice but to close down after going broke from Spreets greedily overselling their vouchers, Im sure Spreets will too go broke… I mean who else are Spreets going to have to rip off once they have finished running every small business into the ground??!!

    • +1

I have been in contact with Spreets and they contacted the salon for me. I received a call from the salon this morning but they are refusing to honour what I purchased. I have requested a refund from Spreets. I can't imagine how King Edward Salon think that they have the right to sell something that is very clear and straight forward and then turn around and say you can't have what you have paid for. They are as dodgy as hell and I am looking forward to reporting them to Consumer Affairs.

      • Keep us updated!

      • +1

I'll be doing the same if they refuse to honour it when I go for the deal, too.

      • After many emails Spreets are now saying they will give me a credit, but not a refund. They say the reason is because the salon will now honour the deal. I don't really care anymore what the salon will honour as I have had my hair done and I don't trust them anyway, I am sure I will be the brunt of their revenge for forcing their hand. I have been "stuck" in Cairns for the last few days so I haven't been able to follow up with Consumer Affairs about my rights yet but I will call them on Monday to see if I should push it further or just take the credit. Either way Spreets have not heard the last of me and I am planning to start a Facebook page for people to list all of their complaints…suggestions for a page name are more than welcome :)

        • -1

My vote is take the credit. Sooner or later you'll be tempted again and hopefully you won't get screwed the secod time around.

        • So I have told them that I will take the credit. I really don't think I had much choice as they use tactics to avoid giving a refund, and it's not like I can actually talk to anyone. HINT: If you plan on running a dodgy business then handle all correspondence by email! Anyway needless to say I am pretty disappointed. Now to hold my breath waiting for the credit to hit my account.

  • I bought the same voucher but have not redeemed it yet.
But yes, you're right it takes absolutely ages to get it redeemed…the one I posted about above was for Capillus Boutique, horrendous service and I would not go there if you paid me. Try posting on their facebook page, that might get a quicker response.

I purchased a massage voucher from Spreets, and have recently found out that the massage company is taking legal action against them because the vouchers were grossly oversold. I have contacted Spreets several times and all I get is an automated reply telling me someone will get back to me. So far it has been two weeks and still not reponse.

They are quick to take your money, but the customer service is apalling! I will not be purchasing from them again, and will be advising others against it also.

    • Mind sharing what the business' name was?

    • Isouthey. Try their facebook page. Make a complaint on Spreets facebook wall, they seem to respond very quickly then! They are the ones who have badly hurt mirror beauty by over selling the contracted amount. Spreets only care about Spreets.

  • It is Mirror Beauty in Brisbane. Apparently they sold over 2000 vouchers for 3 hours worth of massage.

    • +1

I am really getting sick of these overbookings.

    • My friend bought one of these and got their email at the end of last month:

      "Hello x,

Mirror Beauty is currently in the middle of legal action against Spreets and because of this we are unable to accept your booking at this time. Due to the "God's must be crazy" voucher being grossly oversold, we are unable to see any Spreets customers until all legal proceedings with Spreets have been finalised.

PLEASE DO NOT BE CONCERNED WITH THE EXPIRY DATE OF YOUR VOUCHER - WE WILL HONOUR EVERY VOUCHER ONCE ALL LEGAL PROCEEDINGS HAVE BEEN FINALISED.

Unfortunately we are unable to give you a time frame on how long settlement will take for this matter. If you feel you are unable to wait please present your voucher to recieve a $59 credit that you can put towards any treatment here at Mirror Beauty.

I would like to take this time to apologise to you as the consumer. I completely understand that you purchased this voucher in good faith and that you were completely unaware that the voucher was being oversold. We sympathise with your frustration and the disappointment you must be feeling. I would also like to apologise for the inconvience that this has caused you and the long delays that most people have experienced when trying to make appointments but unfortunately this matter is completely out of our control. We hope to see you sometime. soon.

      Thank you for your understanding,
      Emma Carl from Mirror Beauty."

Haven't heard how she has gone with a refund, but its only been 2 weeks (still too early for any one of those businesses to give a damn. Terrible! In this case its not the deal websites fault, Mirror Beauty should have said a max number of vouchers to be sold to become available, just too greedy then realising 'oh shit, how can we possible service 2000 people'…

      • +3

I remember reading some article about this merchant saying that Scoopon had recommended the merchant to uncap the number of vouchers sold, because Scoopon said that most customers wont actually redeem them.
I think Scoopon was supposed to say "most customers wont be able to redeem them cause your store will be overbook".
To me, it sounds like Scoopon knew about this overbooking issue and this was part of their plan to make money.
I know this thread is about Spreets, but no doubt they work the same way.

  • actually beccy babe Mirror Beauty asked Spreets to sell no more then 500 vouchers as they are a small business. They even have a contact stating that. Spreets did not give a flying f**k! They sold well over 2000 vouchers and when mirror beauty told them to simply refund the over sold, Spreets told them that was a physical imposibility. This is partly why Mirror Beauty are taken legal action against Spreets. Spreets are the greddy arseholes who sit in their office and do about 10 mins worth of work to put the deal up and sit back and watch the dollars tick over. It is the small bunisses that suffer! 500 salons in Victoria alone have had to shut down because of online voucher sites. People need to stop being so scabby by buying into these online vouchers sites so often. It is effecting small business. You really shouldn't make accusations without knowing the whole story!

    • How do you know about 500 salons shutting down in VIC because on online voucher sites? Where is that number from? I find it hard to believe that in the last year, 500 salons in VIC would have offered deals, let alone be put out of business by their decision to offer vouchers.

  • *contract

  • check out the link below. This woman has done articles about the harm these sites are doing to small businesses. Customers who dont understand the beauty industry only see a cheap deal. Mirror Beauty's 3hr package was put up for $59 (and they didn't get to choose the price;Spreets did!) Yet the cost for Mirror Beauty to do each package is between $70-$80 - this includes staff wages and product usage. Spreets take a decent $ amount from each voucher sold aswell and they also hold back a certain % amount of the salons own money until the salon has seen between 80%-100% of the vouchers.

    https://www.facebook.com/creamsalonsolutions.brigitte

How is it hard to believe that 500 salons in VIC would have put up deals on these sites? There are so many group buyin sites now and the majority of deals are for beauty salons and hair dressers. These sites have 'Deal Scouts' who cold call businesses to get them to sign up and do a deal on their site. These deal scouts are very persuading and will lie and lie and lie to get the business to sign up.

    • +2

I don't see anything about 500 VIC salons going out of business on this facebooks page. This woman has an agenda. She sell products and coaching/training. Anyone can write articles or editorial advertisements. It's not that hard. I imagine she is making money out the failures.

The salon was not forced to sign a contract at $59. They could have said no at any point before signing. I'm not going to feel sorry for some business because they choose to run a loss leader as an advertising strategy. If the business about the 500 vs 200 is true, that is one thing, but they knew what they'd be getting out of each voucher customer when they signed.

A lot of the beauty deals are repeats for a particluar business. That's why I find it hard to see how there would be many more than 500 advertising in one year in VIC alone.

These businesses wouldn't be doing repeated deals if it wasn't working for them. I find it very annoying that somehow the voucher company is the ONLY ONE to blame for these failures. Like the business owner wasn't stuffing up here there and everywhere. These business owners need to take responsibility for their actions and their conduct and stop blaming the customers and the voucher companies for all their problems.

      • The contract for mirror beauty was signed stating that spreets would sell no more then 500 vouchers. mirror beauty is only a small salon and the owner knew that 500 vouchers would be the absolute maximum she could see in a 12 month period if she only did the vouchers herself. that way technically she wouldnt have to run at much of a loss. the spreets deal scout approached the owner of mirror beauty, not the other way around. the contract was signed before the deal went live, therefore spreets guaranteed mirror beauty they would sell no more then 500 vouchers, hence the reason mirror beauty is taking legal action spreets as we speak. when the deal went up, the owner of mirror beauty was calling the spreets deal scout throughout the day telling her to take the deal off the site as it was getting ridiculous as it was selling way more then they could handle and had gone over the contracted 500. the deal scout told the owner that it was impossible to take it off the site(which is absolute bullshit!). how is this mirror beautys fault when they had been lied to?
you're defending these sites, are you sure that you're not the one with the hidden agenda? even after i have explained in plain english what these scamming, dodgy spreets arseholes are doing to business, you still defend them.
Yes some businesses do repeat deals on some of these sites. that is purely because not all of these sites operate the same way as spreets. other sites do not go over the contracted amount and listen to small business when they give them a maximum capacity.
the business between spreets and mirror beauty isnt the customers fault in any way but these online group vouchers are growing and the public need to realise that just because they seem to be getting a cheap deal, the long term effects they have on small business is dramatic. the staff for example, at mirror beauty receive daily abusive emails and phone calls from spreets customers who can't get in until november for an appointment. even when they explain that this is because of spreets overselling the vouchers, most responses aparently have been "this is not my problem, this is ridiculous". what are they meant to do when they are already turning away full paying regular clientele just to see these vouchers?? these girls have been doing 12 hour days with nothing but back to back spreets voucher appointments. does anyone really expect to get an a grade service when they are physically and mentally exhausted? mirror beauty is in an up market area and have been around for about 7 years now so they have a very large clientele base so they are not a cheap arse salon trying to scrounge up some new clients. majority of the spreets clients that have visited the salon have been from areas a fair way away from new farm, places such as the sunshine coast, toowoomba and the gold coast. obviously these people wont come back to the salon and these have been the people who have given these poor girls the most grief. they expect everything for nothing and treat these girls like crap. mirror beauty is not a frikkin sweat shop!! these girls arnt paid enough to put up with amount of crap they have had thrown at them since this whole crisis with spreets began.

        • -1

So, the only thing spreets have done that is "wrong" is sell too many vouchers. Then you shouldn't be harping on the price the vouchers were sold at. Stop blaming all of the voucher companies for putting small businesses out of business. It is their own fault for signing. Full stop. Yawn. Now go away.

    • +2

@cakes26 - what's your relationship to miror beauty and the article you've linked to (was it written by you/someone you know)? just curious as you've been a member for 1 day and all your comments are in this thread, plus you write like you have access to inside information about the industry, and particularly the dealings between mirror beauty and spreets… :)

      • lol no the articles weren't written by me or anybody I know. I have been in the beauty industry for quite a few years now and know many salon owners but only a few of them have been suckered into doing a spreets voucher. After hearing basically what happened between spreets and mirror beauty I contacted the owner of mirror beauty to get the whole story and was quite disgusted with spreets. Customers are getting the wrong imoression about small businesses because of spreets.

  • I've also had trouble with Spreets. I bought the $8 movie ticket deal a while back and have just had problem after problem with the verification process. First I couldn't redeem the vouchers because it turns out I need to fill both address fields even though I only need one and the error I got ("Address not valid") was totally unhelpful. Then the verification email they sent out had a bad link and wouldn't let me verify my identity. Customer service has been poor at best, and responses have been slow. I'm definitely going to think twice before buying a deal from Spreets again.

  • -1

@voteoften Im glad your small closed off minded views only see it that way. yawn. keep defending them all you want, your just as pathetic and as low as spreets (and thier ceo) are themselves

  • +1

@voteoften by the way, spreets doing the wrong thing by overselling these vouchers is the point why mirror beauty is suing them and the reason why people arent getting their appointments. There is a huge difference between 500 vouchers and 2500 vouchers! 500 vouchers at 3 hours is 1500 hours of mirror beauty times over 12 months. 2500 vouchers at 3 hours is 7500 hours over 12 months. 1500 hours is acceptable. 7500 hours is a joke.

    • -1

You seem to be blaming the buyers. Also if the overselling is the only issue, why are you bringing up their net loss or profit per voucher?

Stick to the issue. Overselling. The rest of it is immaterial and is the "fault" of the business owner for agreeing.

      • -1

NONE OF THIS IS THE FAULT OF THE BUSINESS! NONE OF IT! It is 100% the fault of Spreets and their greediness. That is all.

  • +3

I bought a $89 beauty voucher for Nirvana Beauty hoping to use it at their Miranda store. It was for my daughter but she didnt use it so I thought I would as it had just over a month before it expired. When I rang the salon I was told that they had too many people with vouchers so they were no longer honoring them! They told me to get a refund from Spreets but after over a week and 4 emails I am yet to get a reply. Im totally disgusted in the salon and Spreets and will never use it again or recommend it to anyone. The salon were rude and defensive when I tried to get help from them to get my refund, they offered no help at all and seemed to think they had every right to just cancel my voucher telling me they were completely booked up. I have a good mind to ring them for a long and costly appointment then not turn up. Bet they can squeeze me in if Im a fully paying customer. Consumer affairs will be my next email.

Why don;t you start a new thread with this? Team Spreets or whatever they call themselves may sort it out for you due to it being in a public forum.

This salon has probably suffered in the same way as many other salons have. Spreets more then likely oversold the vouchers, yet again. It isn't right for the salon staff to be rude to you at all but they would probably have a lot of the exact same phone calls and emails from consumers in the exact same situation as yourself many times every day. If they are struggling to fit you in then they would most likely be struggling to fit in regular full paying clients aswell. The fact that they havn't yet had to shut their doors is surprising. Honestly your anger should be at Spreets, not the salon. Voteoften has absolutely no idea how these group buying companies operate and has absolutely no empathy for the small business. Check out spreets facebook page, I have seen customers put a complaint on their wall and get a response very quickly! Good luck with spreets and I really do hope you are able to get a refund! I really do suggest that yourself and anybody you know think twice before ever buying from Spreets or any other online group buy in vouchers.

"Voteoften has absolutely no idea how these group buying companies operate and has absolutely no empathy for the small business."

Nice to be so "absolute" in ones thinking. I bet you use the word "never" fequently as well. Stop being so emotive.

I purchased a voucher for King Edward Salon. I recently tried to call, but their number has been disconnected. I emailed Spreets to see if they had closed down (as suggested by another member on here). My email was sent on 8th July. I got a reply on the 11th of July:

    Hi Spreeter,
Thank you for the email and apologies for the delay.
I have forward your request onto the refund department and they will contact you via this email discussion. Please reply to this discussion should you wish to add something or update us on your current situation. Making new email discussions will only just increase our backlog and delay our response time.
Be advised it can take up to 5 - 7 days for a response.
    Your patience is greatly received.
    Kind regards,
    Spreets Support

So far I have not heard back from them.

It really concerns me that their emails sound SO computer generated.

Anyone else had the same problem - either with this salon, or with computer-generated-sounding emails?

My mother had some problems earlier this year, being unable to access her coupons from the website. She sent several emails, and all the responses seemed computer-generated, and completely ignored the information she was putting in her emails (ie she would say she had followed their steps, but still couldn't access the vouchers, and the response would just repeat the steps). In the end she accessed her vouchers by getting the bank involved (they ended up sending her printed copies of the vouchers…which she is STILL unable to access online).

I'm very concerned now as I also purchased a voucher for King Edward.

I have sent Spreets an email, I hope they do not take ages to respond. We are definitely entitled to a refund as the business has closed down or moved without leaving forwarding details.

I, too, do not appreciate receiving slow, computer generated emails when I am trying to resolve an issue.

I will give them the benefit of the doubt, wait two days for a response and see what happens. If, however, they do not respond in a timely manner, I might be forced to stop subscribing to them or purchasing their vouchers.

It's very disappointing when you are greeted with such poor customer service. :(

I have problem with spreets too. Sent them a request for a referral credit 9 days ago, just saying being processed. Shockingly, it takes them more than 10 days to do a simple job.

    • -2

yes and they seem to be able to take your money straight away with no dramas.

  • Beware of spreets. After an initial 2 week fiasco in February this year regarding actually receiving the voucher we forked out $79 for, the birthday recipient is yet so receive a single piece of communication from back to basics beauty - despite emailing and calling repeatedly. 5 months is not an appropriate time to wait to make an appointment, voucher or no voucher. When I intervened I received a rude message form the company - but yet still no offer of an appointment time! Matter has been referred to consumer affairs VIC.

I have now received a refund for the King Edward Salon coupon I purchased. The salon has closed - their number doesn't work and my friend walked past the other day to find that the premesis had been vacated. I would advise anyone else who has bought a voucher for this salon to write to Spreets and request a refund. Though you'll have to wait for it to go through their horrid email system!

I got fed up with the system (I also had to request a refund for my mother, who had been charged for the vouchers, but never gained access to them), so I called the CEO (whose number I found on one of these forums). It was not at all a pleasent experience. I found him to be very rude, completely lacking in customer service, totally unconcerned about the issues…he even swore on the phone (admittedly, not to me, but out of frustration…but still…not a good look!)! He also warned me not to tell anyone about this etc etc. and said that the mobile number I had contacted him on would soon be disconnected (I don't actually have the number anymore, but it was definitely obttained from these forums).

I think that their handling of this complaint was not good at all. Yes, they contacted me within their "5-7 business days" time…personally, I think this is way too long (Jump On It, for example, has an Online Chat facility which is turned on alot of the time, including weekends, as well as a 1800 contact number!). Furthermore, it was me that had to go chasing them for a refund. Surely, if they were an honest company, they would have realised that the salong has gone out of business??? (I have reason to believe that others who bought from this salon have also requested refunds). And surely, in that case, they could have done a mass refund to all unredeemed coupons from that deal, or at least emailed those concerned to let them know! How many people out there have purchased this deal, and won't redeem it, forget about it, or just not be bothered to ask for the refund? Will Spreets be just pocketing that money?

Needless to say…I will NOT be purchasing from Spreets again. Yes, they do run some great deals, and I've had some ok (definitely not rave worthy) experiences with deals I have bought from them. BUT…it seems that if things go wrong (which will, at some point, inevitably happen) you just have to go through so much crap! I'd rather NOT buy a deal and NOT have to deal with their B/S! There are plenty of other deals websites out there who not only get back to you in a timely manner, but know of customer service, basic courtesy and manners!!

Bought a Go Clean and Green voucher for $69 for a two hour $150 professional House Clean.
Made at least 12 attempts to contact Go Clean and Green but answering machine referred you to web site which didn't work so rang again but answering machine referred you to web site etc.
Getting a satisfactory outcome from Spreets was not much better and I wont bother again.
Outcome was $69 for nothing - that's Spreets value.
I am not even sure Go Clean and Green even exist.
Do other have experience of Spreets offering a deal which is impossible to use?
Me $69 for nothing & no longer a Spreets subscriber as I only do business with honest and ethical companies exclusively
Spreets $69 x $113 = $7797 Nice little earner for such an insensitive and customer averse organisation.

    Yet another problem with Spreets.

I purchased 10 dance classes at Fusion Dance.

Terms and conditions said "Voucher valid from 16/3/11 - 16/9/11 (Need to use first class within 3 months and all
remaining classes valid for 6 months)".

I had called the business, who told me that the remaning classes were to be used 6 months from the use of the first class.

I called today to book into a particular style/level only to be told that they were booked out for Spreets customers, but if I wanted to pay the full class price I was welcome to come along.
It was never specified in the T&C's that there would be different booking conditions for Spreets customers as compared to "normal" customers.

I asked if I could book for the same class on Wednesday, only to be told they were booked out for that style/level until September. I was advised that, because the voucher expires on 16th September, I would only be able to take that style/level for three weeks, then the voucher would expire.

I am now waiting for Fusion Dance to "check" about the different information I was given.

    SO annoyed about this!

Spreets should have mentioned that there would be different availability for Spreets customers (this reminds me of several restaurant deals where people are refused bookings on the basis that they are using a coupon).

They should also have mentioned that 6 months meant 6 months ending in September, NOT 6 months from use of the first class…AND the people at Fusion dance should not have given me information to the contrary! I am only sorry that I did not take the person's name and/or get this information in writing at the time I made the inquiry (way back in March).

I am waiting to hear back from Fusion Dance before I contact Spreets. Which I am hoping I will not have to do as my last experience with them was less than satisfactory.

Team Spreets - No Vouchers for my holiday in Port Fairy, No reply from Team Spreets.
Am I going to have the same problem of having to book it within 6 months of the offer?

I am so over Team Spreets!!! I purchased a meal deal months ago and have yet to be able to use it. The notification I received had no voucher attachment. Since it was my first experience I figured they didn't have them and I just printed out the email which did have a voucher number. Duly took myself off to the place only to be turned away. I asked Spreets to send me the necesary voucher. Time and again they send the same email sans voucher with a form email which tells me that they deem this issue resolved!! Surely an issue is not resolved until the customer is satisfied. There is a complete lack of attention to the actual nature of my complaint and the history of its handling. They blame the problem on my computer spam filter. Well I don't know why I keep receiving all their emails. Also offered them an alternative email address to which nothing has been sent. In the end have asked them to post the thing, no reply. First and last time with Spreets. Have been more than happy with Living Social and Scoopon.

And yes I have tried to log on but as I have told them same problem with new password process.

I've bought a few Spreets offers and have yet to be able to successfully redeem even one. If and when Spreets gets around to replying to emails all they seem to want to do is give the run around. I asked for help with a voucher 2 months before its expiry, and then again closer to the expiry date. 10 days after expiry date I received a reply, which was as good as useless by that time.

Then, because the voucher had already expired, they refused a refund.
