If I Want This Year's Rosters in The NBA as The 'default' Roster for The Game, Which NBA 2K Should I Buy??

Hey everyone,

So I'm loving this season of NBA, and am happily following my team (won't say which because I don't want to make this about team rivalry), and LOVE their line-up this season. My question is thus, which NBA 2K should I buy to have this season's roster?

I realise that with the January trades, the roster will be altered slightly, but I'm after the roster of my team as it started, this 2016-2017 season, as the DEFAULT in the game. I'm guessing I can always download updated roster files if I want to include the recent trades?

I ask because I always get confused with which is the current 2K game.. Cause they always seem to be released early? as in, 2k17 comes out in 2016, 2k16 comes out in 2015 and it confuses the heck out of me.

    2K17 is the current game.

    Not a 2K gamer myself (FIFA person here) but if 2K is anything like FIFA then they will support the current version (17 in this case) with all roster changes until the next version comes out.

    FIFA example - Game comes out in late Sept would include all transfers in most recent window (ending early Sept). There is a (European) winter transfer window in January and EA Sports will have an updated roster sometime in February. Then there will be no more updates to make sure everyone buys the next game.

    Hello, I know it's a bit late, but, it's called "2k 17" because it's for the "16/17", in a few weeks "2k 18" will release for the "17/18" season. I know it's since I used have the exact same problem and know the struggle. :)
