One good reason NOT to give out your personal details too early

We've all griped about those sites that ask you to sign up to see deals, or that you need to tell them something before purchasing or seeing prices.
Well, I bet these people are unhappy they did so. If you're you'reone of them, thankfully the ACCC are on your side, but this is a good warning for the rest of us:

So you are saying there is a company that would send me products without me giving them my card details? Actually that's a good company in my book. You should have posted that as a deal!

pre-paid visa card with $2 balance left always works great for freebies that need a credit card. They will take $1 out for card verification but they refund the $1 back to your card after 7 days so you could keep using the same card many times and balance will always be $2.

      • Thanks for the tip

I like the ones that ask for an email address, but don't verify ([email protected] must hate me).

A company that just sends me stuff without me agreeing to buy it! That's awesome for most people who are aware of consumer rights and basic contract law. Unfortunately it targets people who are not aware and are vulnerable to this sleazy practices (threats of debt collection)

  • seems that they now have all prices on their websites
