Let's "group-up" to End "Budget-Bruising Cruising"

Few cruises leave from Adelaide…

And - if you book a place on a ship passing thru Adelaide - you're likely to be paying for the place from the port the ship began its journey (before landing on in Adelaide).

Very unfair, & unique to cruise ships, I think.

If you are traveling alone - & can't book a "cabin for one" - you're likely to be paying for all (typically, 2 or 4) beds of a multi-person cabin.

Also unfair, & unique to cruise ships, I think.

So, How to Cruise without a Bruise on a single's budget?

Well, travelers often arrange shared transportation (ride-shares, etc.) at, eg, YHA, Festivals, etc.

So, why can't folks arrange cabin-shares to save $$ on cruising?

Are there any web sites, where people can contact others to arrange a cabin-cruise?

(Can it be done, here on OzB"?)

  • P&O is descirbed as a "budget" cruise company by a local travel agent.

(My auto-club recently had a deal on an Adelaide to Fremantle cruise on a P&O
ship, so they may be OK… or…?)

Google will assist you with the cabin share solution out of curiosity I had a look and there are plenty of sites. If you are from rAdelaide consider grabbing one of the cheap airfares to Singapore, then grab an off season Royal Caribbean cruise departing Singapore to Malaysia, Thailand etc - you may find overall its cheaper than the Sydney-Pacific Island cruise costs.
